April wasn't hungover today -- hungover would imply that she'd been full-on drunk yesterday, which she hadn't been. She'd been tipsy, and she personally thought that it had contributed positively to her performance as Reverend Dr. Chausible Whateverthehell, thank you. Priests snuck wine sometimes, right?

Hungover or not, though, she did have a headache, and the zombies' insistence on playing nothing but loud, dated preteen pop wasn't helping. If April heard another Hannah Montana song played at full volume by a zombie with only one arm, she was going to start throwing bottles, probably.

"Somehow I think there are people who would gladly make an idiot of themselves without any need for alcohol." And if there was a glance towards Cade, well... Well, she probably wasn't helping her own point, actually.

"I don't think he'd need alcohol to gladly make an idiot of himself. He'd just prefer it," Jessica pointed out.

"See if he'll do it. Then we'll know for sure."

She wouldn't. Because she'd rather not get turned in to the Sith if he didn't think it was funny later.

"Not tonight. Tonight is karaoke free. Also, he'd try to use it to get me to sing, too, and no thanks," Jessica said.

"I'm sure somehow I'll live the rest of my life all right without it," Sia decided.

"You won't have to go that long. I'm sure there will be some flimsy excuse to bring it up within the next couple weeks," Jessica reasoned.

"I can't guarantee I'll be there," Sia pointed out.

"I'll find a flimsy excuse to drag you out, too," Jessica said. "I'm full of flimsy excuses for all sorts of things."

"Come up with flimsy excuses for another one of these nights out, maybe." With a lot of people there. Because generally that was the only time she was comfortable with Cade around.

"There's birthdays, Saint Patrick's Day, Arbor Day unless we've passed that already," Jessica said. "And at least a couple of those can be turned into song things. With Arbor Day, I guess it depends how much you like nature."

"Arbor Day," she repeated.

"It's a day for and about trees," Jessica said. "Because you have to admit, trees are pretty great."

"So you have a whole day for them." They weren't that great.

There were that great and MORE. "Well, there's also Earth Day, but trees are only a small part of that one. But yeah, at least one full day to celebrate trees. But it should probably be a week."

"Your planet comes off as extremely strange sometimes, Jessica," Sia told her. Now was one of those times.

"Truth be told, I think we just like holidays, and so we find things to celebrate," Jessica reasoned.

"I suppose I should be glad this one doesn't require costumes?" Like she'd participated in Halloween anyway.

"Again, that depends on how much you love trees. I'm pretty sure you could get a fun tree costume if you wanted for the day," Jessica explained.

"I won't want to, no." She wanted to get that out there now, just in case.

"You say that now. But maybe by the time Arbor Day comes along you'll feel differently," Jessica said. "And it's possible. I have no idea when Arbor Day is, so it could be a year away."

"Some holiday-pusher you are," Sia replied.

"It's always Arbor Day in my heart. That's the important thing," Jessica said, very seriously.

"Make sure that's put on the invitations," Sia said, also very seriously.

"Oh, it will be. 'Arbor Day is in my heart. And now it's on the calendar, too. Please come celebrate the beauty of trees by having a few drinks,'" Jessica recited. "The place will be packed."
