Apparently Tino was just trying to be as annoying as possible this week, and Kitty had spend most of her shift wondering if it was overstepping boss/employee boundaries if she just started shaking him until he stopped.

Though maybe it wasn't those boundaries she should have been worried about as much as things like the sanctuary spell. Because thanks to his little wordless game of "I'm not touching you," she tried to slap his hand away and that would be why she was plodding back into the bar soaking wet now.

Wet bartender! At least she didn't wear leather pants today.

Batman made his way to the bar when nobody was looking.

As soon as anyone noticed him, he placed an order. "Just water."

He was the best customer.

Oh, great, the creeper was here.

"I guess I could wring it out of my shirt," she said, but got a glass to fill with non-shirt water.

Batman glared a little. Apparently he didn't find that joke very funny. "I'll stick to the tap. Unless that's what's giving you problems."

"Nope. Just a regular old Fandom thing," she said, passing him his water. "Unless you know something about the tap that I don't."

Since he was a creeper.

"Not offhand. But I'll look into it," Batman trolled.

"I appreciate it." No, she didn't. "So what brings you in here besides the tap water?"

"The promise of lively music and pleasant conversation," Batman said. Yes, that was both snark AND a zombie pun, all in one sentence. Batman could do it all.

"...That was actually sort of good." She didn't like admitting it, but it really was impressive.

"I don't know what you're talking about," Batman said, shunning the very idea of humor.

He sipped his water.

Derek looked her up and down. "Having a good night?"

"Stupid Tino. Stupid sanctuary spell," she complained. "So... no, not really."

"You could always go change." While he continued to laugh at you.

"I will not give him the satisfaction," Kitty replied. "Also it's squishy to walk right now."

"It'll be worse when it dries."

"No, the squishing will be over when it dries." She knew what he meant.

Derek paused for a moment. "Barton is going to think I'm trying to get into your pants for this, isn't he?"

"...Probably," she admitted. "That's what you get for trying to get me out of wet clothes. Do not write that down, squirrels, it was a joke."

No, no. It was just perfect.

Derek stared at him for a moment before slowly turning away. Because he could hardly compete with a guy in a cape. Even though his family was deeeeaaaaaaaaad.

Batman took a sip of his water.

Like a goddamn winner.

You can go here if you don't want to deal with any of that.

Incidentally, Kitty did take to throwing darts at slips of paper with potential class names on them. So there's that.

I have a ton of work and there's no possible way I can finish it today. Distract me so I don't drive myself nuts trying.
