So Derek had taken Kitty shopping for more presentable clothes, and that was fine, and she actually liked what he picked out, and she really would wear them... next week. This was the last week before classes and also she had a bit of a rebellious streak and also she'd told Clint she would do this, so naturally that meant tonight she was working in leather pants and a bustier.

Which was probably not the best outfit for going over things from yesterday to see how bad the discrepancies were from last night, but oh well.

Kitty had said she'd be dressed scandalously tonight - well, okay, maybe that was Clint's word more than hers - and Clint knew most of what was in her closet, and he still found himself staring a little as he came in. "I know someone who's going to have pleasant dreams tonight," he said as he took a seat at the bar.

"Oh, really? Who?" she asked, leaning on the bar a little because she could be a tease sometimes.

"That would be me," Clint said, happily staring because come on, she was just asking for it. "I'll consider it my reward for helping Derek today."

Kitty looked genuinely surprised at that, due to all the genuine surprise. "You... Wait, what?"

"Okay, technically I helped Stiles, but it was Derek's idea," Clint explained. "So it's like I helped Derek, sort of."

"Voluntarily?" She was still trying to get over that 'helping Derek' thing. "What did you do?"

"Stiles came to be looking for something to defend himself. Apparently, something supernatural is going down at home and a friend of his was killed and he wants to find out who did it," Clint said. "I tried to talk him out of it, but he was adamant and I've spent enough time around the teenagers here to know there's no talking them out of risking their lives when they've decided to do it."

Kitty winced a little, kind of wanting to ask which friend, since she had some idea of who a lot of them were by name. "This is why I hate it when he goes home," she sighed. "Yeah, there's really not much you can do. And Stiles won't even lie and say he'll stay out of trouble."

"Yeah, I guess the honesty is kind of nice? At least we know to worry about him, instead of being caught by surprise that he's gotten himself into trouble," Clint said. "And it's not like I wouldn't do the same thing for a friend, so I couldn't insist he stay here that much."

"Yep. I can't even count how many times I ran off when someone specifically told me not to," Kitty admitted. "I don't have much of a leg to stand on, and I'm too young for 'because I told you so.'"

"I tried that and it didn't work. So I gave him some mace and made him promise to let me know if he needed anything else," Clint said. "I don't know if that's enough, but hopefully it'll help."

"Hopefully. And I hope I get to see him before he goes back," Kitty said. And not just to tie him up somewhere till this was over, though she always considered that a viable option. She doubted anyone else would argue with her there. "...You have readily available mace?"

"Maaaybe?" Clint said uncertainly. "Is that a bad thing?"

"Nope," she told him. "It's just a thing I didn't know."

"I... have a bunch of different things on hand, or readily available," Clint admitted. "You never know when you might need to be armed?"

"It makes sense," Kitty said with a shrug. Which was an interesting thing to do in a bustier, by the way. "There've been more than a few times I've wished I had things on hand when stuff happens."

Yeah, Clint rather enjoyed that shrug, to be honest. "Well, if you ever need a weapon for anything, just come to me and I can probably hook you up with something. I know I can trust you," he said with a grin.

"Oh, good. It's nice to hear that after a year," she teased. Apparently she felt she could round up these days. "Especially given how out of practice I am in the weapons department."

"You should definitely know I'm your guy for that after a year." Two could play that rounding up game, and Clint even managed to not sound amazed by the number. "Any practice you want help with, I can help."

"'Any' could be a lot of things," she pointed out.

"I can help with a lot of things. I'm a man of many skills," Clint said with a smirk.

"Is there any way for me to interpret that other than dirty?" Kitty grinned.

"I meant with weapons! Although, if you need some dirty help too, I'd be happy to assist you there too," Clint said. "I'm a giving person, always sacrificing my time for others."

"Everything sounds dirty with that smirk," Kitty told him, reaching out to thumb his lower lip. "And I know how giving you can be."

Clint kissed her thumb and grinned more. "I'm glad I've made myself clear," he said. "I wouldn't want there to be any confusion."

"None at all," she said, and just to tease, added, "We're still talking about weapons, right?"

"Sure, of course," Clint said quickly. He could pretend with the best of them.

Kitty giggled. "Well, whatever the subject, I am more than happy to let you help me however you want," she told him. "Practice makes perfect and all."
