The First Annual Fandom High Convention- Community Center- Sunday morning/afternoon

As it turned out, conventions were super easy to organize when you had the power to make everything happen, so guess what you had to deal with today, Fandom! That's right, overnight the community center had been taken over by as many NPC fans of Fandom High that could possibly fit in it, and everyone was so happy to be able to mingle with other fans, or share fan art, or buy merchanise, because oh yes, there was merchandise.

Not to worry, though, Fandom: the original six fans were the only ones who could make anything happen to you. So at least you only had to worry about six people ruining your lives! Bright side!

So come one, come all, and see whether or not you got creeped out by people wearing shirts with your face on them!

Barbossa gave her a toothy smile.

...maybe Barbossa shouldn't do that.

"Ahoy, wench."

Kelsi had never been to a convention before, and she was determined to enjoy everything. She bounced from booth to booth -- buying an Anakin action figure here, getting some Sterek fanart signed there, and filling her bag with every single freebie imaginable.

She ended up at a table near the edge of the convention center, looking a little dazed as she chowed down on a sandwich from Jeff, God of Biscuits. A package of cookies sat near the edge of the table in a naked attempt at bribing characters to sit down with her.

Alex was 99% sure all the weirdness the town had been experiencing had something to do with the random visitors, so she headed over to the community center to try to get to the bottom of everything. This had to stop. She hated thinking about paparazzi. Worse, she hated wearing sunglasses inside for no reason other than thinking it was a cool thing to do.

Kelsi just happened to be the one Alex saw first. (http://lil-nikita.livejournal.com/2682.html) Plus, there were cookies.

Astrid was bopping around the convention with a pen tucked behind her ear and a notepad in hand, because she just had to get all the autographs before she left. She planned to come back, of course, but she had class tomorrow, and she was pretty sure class was more important than giving hot actors leather pants.

She just hoped her powers worked long-distance, just in case.

The scent of the new, strange magic was all over this place, and John closed his eyes to mutter under his breath for a moment. "Indica mihi quem non est," he breathed, mangling the Latin but not caring. It was the pomp that mattered in this case, as often was the thing with magic, and when he opened his eyes, he saw a faint flicker off to his right.

He stepped in front of the girl easily enough, hands in his trenchcoat pockets. "Hold up, kitten. You seem to be in the know with what's going on about here; you lot doing some sort of bake sale or something? Girl Guides?"

Cordelia had figured out on Friday that something was wrong, and she'd decided that hey, this town had a Buffy, so she could just sit this one out and do her nails where people weren't crazy.

But by Sunday curiosity had gotten the better of her, and she decided to head down and see what was happening, at least for five minutes. She could only handle so much time around so many nerds.

"Hey, where's the stuff with my face on it?"

Patrick didn't like the idea of making the exhibitors give him things for free, so he made several runs between to the nearest ATM and made it give him money. Because it wasn't a person, so it was okay. And then he would use his hard-earned money to buy stuff. Capitalism!

The Tick may have been here, but he wasn't happy about it. Oh, no! He had a City to protect! His City! THE City! He needed to investigate and see what he could do about this whole thing!

But to do that, he'd need a disguise. He would need... an Anakin Skywalker mask.

"I'm not sure this is going to work," The Tick mused as the mask failed to stretch over his chin.

Fine. The Anakin Skywalker mask would just be a souvenir.

Kenzi was here incognita. Well, as incognita as she got: blonde wig, sunglasses to cover the eyes, a little less black clothing than usual. She was seriously considering getting a booth, and selling any worthless crap she could find as souvenirs, even though the Sterek cups had done very nicely yesterday. Thanks, guys.

Also, she hadn't thought anything could really weird her out? ... it was interesting to be this wrong.

Anakin, after waving off any number of fanboys and girls gushing over his costuming, critiquing him for being too tall or short and yanking on his hair, thanks so much for that, radio, was now in an argument with a retailer about the replica Anakin/Vader figurines he was selling as a two-pack.

"No one knows about that connection!"

"Are you new, dude?" the vendor retorted.

This could go on a while.

Now, John had felt some sort of magic trying to get under his skin for the last few days now. A little push here, a compulsion towards being shirtless there, but he'd been on this merry-go-round a few times too many to not notice when strange shit was going down, even in this strange-shit town.

So, of course, he was going to prowl the largest gathering on the island to see what he could sniff out, since chaos loved company.

...even if these people seemed like chaos made manifest. "No, I'm not signing...you're a bleeding minor! Shoo!"

Was Caritas open yet?

Kara was currently standing in line for "Diversity in Fandom: Having Werewolves AND Vampires Wasn't What We Meant" in cosplay for her favorite character ever: Zoe Winchester.

She was also taking tons of pictures with her phone and tweeting up a storm, all the while annoying her linemates with her stories of how she could teleport now and didn't really need to stand in line, but it wouldn't be fair to the mundanes to cheat like that.

Okay, Zoe had been listening to the radio lately, but there was a difference between hearing about weird people and actually seeing a round woman dressed up like you.

"Oh, this is what going crazy feels like," she said, looking around.

In his quest to determine what was going on, academic panels seemed to be a good place to start.

Unfortunately, when he saw the titles of the panels, Hannibal realized they might not be as much of a help as he'd hoped.

And where had all these people come from? He didn't recall hearing so many shuttles overnight.

A very large (well, large enough to seat a man and his dog comfortably) flying rocket... thing... burst into the panel hall through a hole in the fabric of space/time that hadn't been there before and wasn't there after, either. (Maybe it was just impromptu paper-mache.)

"Hello, students!" Jim declared ebulliently. "Are you ready to learn about the great Worm-Shaped Mysteries of the Universe?!?!"

His arrival could've been more dramatic. Like if he'd actually managed to make it into one of the panel halls, instead of dropping in on top of an autograph table. But. Y'know. Small steps.

Patrick was so excited to attend the "Man Fans of Fandom: Fandom High for the Boys" panel, but it turned out to be just a half dozen guys standing by concessions and talking about how much they missed Batman since he got written out on Friday.

Was Patrick going to volunteer that he was the one who took Batman out? No. No, he was not.
