It was Jaye's last shift at Caritas and her last night in town, at least until the next time she showed up here for a while. Tomorrow it was back to her parents', which probably meant she tomorrow night she'd have found a nice slum to live in instead.

So as promised on radio, she was at the bar with a beer and she'd totally give out free drinks, because what, was she gonna get fired?

"So you owe me a drink," Anakin said, sliding into a stool with a smile.

[OOC: And alllll the SP.]

"Tino, get the man a drink," Jaye said, indicating for Anakin to tell him what he wanted.

Like Jaye was doing any work tonight.

"Whiskey," Anakin said, holding up his fingers against a glass, "and more whiskey."

"I can't argue with that order at all," Jaye said, watching Tino get the thing together.

"Well, I'm a grandfather now," Anakin said. "I might as well learn to drink like an old person."

"Congratulations. Though... haven't you been one for a while?"

"Well, timelines," Anakin said, sipping from his drink. "These are actually mine, not just showing up here to teenage at me."

Teenage was totally a verb now.

Jaye considered this. "24 years on this planet and I never knew one could teenage."

"Oh, it's a verb now," Anakin said. "It means 'to overuse italics and believe that everyone is out to get you and to really enjoy boybands.'"

It was quite a complicated definition.

"No one really enjoys boybands," Jaye said. "It's a myth. Have you ever met someone who likes Justin Bieber or One Direction in real life? No, you haven't and there's a reason for that. Anyway, why didn't we have that verb when we were teenagers?"

"Well, Justin Bieber and One Direction are terrible, terrible music," Anakin declared. "And I don't know why we didn't have it. Maybe they don't tell the teenagers about the word."

"Obviously they don't want us to know in case we use it against them," Jaye said. "'It's not my fault I'm like this, there's a verb named after me.'"

"Exactly," Anakin said, nodding. "It doesn't make it less annoying once you age out of the stage, though." He tilted his head. "You should be drinking, too."

"Sure, Mr. Bossypants, twist my arm," Jaye said, reaching for her drink.

"No Obi-Wan to kiss this time, though," he said a little dryly, sipping from his glass again.

"...I wonder if I can call OJ and fix that."

That totally wasn't creepy at all, right?

Anakin stared at her.

"I'm not kissing your kid."

I'm not ready for newbie day. Info posts to write, canon catchups to finish, canon catchups to start...
