Mike had left the island last night. With his basement full of werewolves suffering from various pirate things? Yeah, he hadn't wanted to stick around. Besides, he'd thought he could explain his eyepatch away as a head start to Halloween. And guess what? It had totally worked.

And also vaguely explained the girly tiara he was wearing to work tonight. The girl who'd been so gracious as to let him sleep over on the mainland had insisted on giving it to him this morning. And Mike was nothing if not accepting. It amused him, and reminded him of the good night he'd had. There was nothing not to like.

"Well, someone looks especially pretty today," Kitty greeted him.

Mike smirked at her, readjusting his tiara so that is sat jauntily atop his head. He had no problem being the prettiest princess, no. "You like? Should I make it a permanent part of my bartending uniform?"

"Yes, you should." Like she'd say anything else. "Is there a reason for the tiara, or were you just feeling it today?"

"Wait, you're not gonna just assume someone crowned me king of, like, the boardwalk or something?"

That would've been a completely reasonable thing to assume! Unless he was joking. And he was.

"No, because this is the first time I've ever heard of the king of the boardwalk," Kitty said. "I did think maybe it was a Fandom thing, but thought it'd be too unfair if you got one and I didn't."

Yes she was a little jealous of it, shh.

Mike was pretty used to inspiring that reaction in people.

He chuckled. "Yeah, I don't think Clint would've like you doing what I did to get this..."

"...Great, now I'm scared to ask," she said.

Mike raised his eyebrows at her. "What? Now I'm worried for your brain. Because I just had sex to get this, before you go imagining anything gruesome."

"Not gruesome, I just thought it was going to be something dirtier," Kitty admitted. "Also, if that's what gets you a tiara, I'm owed."

"Hey now," Mike objected, "I also didn't say it wasn't dirty."

"Obviously. It was tiara-worthy," she said. "I just thought asking would get me details. Which I am totally fine without."

"To spare you the details, I went out last night, rocking an eyepatch ––" Thanks, Fandom. "–– and ran into this chick who was celebrating her birthday. And we were the only two people with accesories like these. And yes, she was pretty sad I couldn't give her the eye patch in return because it had vanished during the night."

"Obviously you should have written down her address to send one to her," Kitty said.

"That... would maybe have necessitated me being less hungover than I was," he admitted. "Yeah. I'm not even entirely sure I got her number."

"Well, now you know for next time how to be the awesomest one night stand ever." Kitty was totally an expert on the subject really.

Mike snorted, and gave her an amused looked. "Spoken like someone in a committed relationship."

He was just teasing.

Kitty smiled. "Just because I'm spoiled doesn't mean there's anything wrong with being memorable."

"I like to think I'm memorable just as I am," Mike remarked as he went to get himself a glass of water. "You want anything? I mean, to drink."

"Just a Coke? I think I'm going to stop in at Bo and Kenzi's party so I don't want to overdo it," she replied.

"There's a party?"

He was so out of the loop.

"Yep. They just got a new place so they're celebrating. If you want to go, I'm sure Tino won't mind covering for a while."

It was possible Tino minded, but oh well.

"Does anyone actually ever ask whether he minds?"

They were kind of terrible about that. Mike cratched the back of his head, though careful not to jostle his tiara.

"I dunno, I've had a long day already. But tell 'em I said hi, if I don't make it, okay?"

"I can definitely do that," Kitty promised, not touching the Tino question.
