Pizza Planet- Sunday afternoon

Since Derek had Petra and Talia with him, Clint and Kitty decided to take the opportunity for some time with their girl. Kitty had barely finished asking Lexi what she wanted before the answer turned out to be "pizza," because Lexi was a kid, and also because she had these two for parents.

And so far Kitty was just glad this place wasn't swarming with kids. So far. You never knew on weekends like these.

As she grabbed a piece of pizza that was probably too big for her, Lexi looked around and said, "We should have brought Lucky."

"Why, so he could steal your food?" Clint asked, eyeing the piece but not really judging because mmmm, pizza. "They still make me sit outside when I bring him places and it's cold out there."

"We can bring some back for him," Kitty tried.

[ahawkwardphase]

"I guess that's okay," Lexi conceded. "No one should make him stay outside, though. He's friendly."

[so_hawkward]

"I know, right? I keep trying to tell people that but no, it's all 'He's not clean, he could get germs on things,'" Clint said, taking two pieces for himself. "Clearly they're just not used to being around a wonderful dog."

"They're probably more worried about him going around to all the tables and looking adorable at them till they give him pizza," Kitty said, reaching for a piece.

[ahawkwardphase]

"But that way he gets more pizza." Lexi did not see a problem with this.

"Well, we don't want him to have too much, or he might get sick," Clint said sagely. "That wouldn't be very much fun."

[throughaphase]

"Nooo. Especially for anyone who'd have to clean up," Kitty agreed. "There's a limit to spoiling pets."

[ahawkwardphase]

"First time I ever heard that," Lexi said, deciding the pizza was better if she pulled the cheese off hers to eat first.

[so_hawkward]

"Hey, that is not the New York way to eat pizza," Clint said, because that was the kind of parenting he apparently did. "Spoiling puppies is important, that's how they know we love them. But keeping them safe is more important."

"Chicago pizza is better," Kitty said under her breath.

[ahawkwardphase]

Lexi heard that, and chose not to engage.

"I know. I just like when they're happy," Lexi said. "And the cheese is the best part."

[so_hawkward]

Clint shot Kitty a playful glare because hey, he'd managed to catch that, thank you. "That's probably why you get spoiled too, since we like when you're happy," he said.

"As long as we're teaching you how to actually work for stuff, and all that," Kitty said.

[ahawkwardphase]

"I have to earn my allowance and get good grades. Does that count?" Lexi asked, starting on the non-cheese part of her pizza.

[so_hawkward]

"That definitely counts. Good grades are really important." If Clint looked a little proud at having a smart kid, he didn't think Kitty would blame him. "Not getting into trouble at school is important too." Sigh, Talia.

[throughaphase]

Hey, Kitty was pretty proud of that, too. "No detentions for you, right?"

[ahawkwardphase]

"Nah, I'm good," Lexi told them. "I'm not s'posed to get in any fights, even if people are being stupid, unless I'm really really sure I won't get caught."

[so_hawkward]

"Ah, that's my girl." What? That was a perfectly fine way of thinking.

[throughaphase]

"...I'm honestly not sure which one of us she picked that up from," Kitty frowned. "Also, don't get in fights."

Was that an afterthought? Probably.

Lexi shrugged. "Both of you. And Uncle Logan!"

[so_hawkward]

"Tell me Uncle Logan babysits you," Clint said, already picturing it and laughing.

[throughaphase]

"Of course he does. He's secretly a big softy," Kitty said, but she was trying to keep a straight face too.

"Yup!" Lexi said proudly. Look, she knew when she had someone wrapped around her finger. "He'll stay and play with me. I can't get him to play Barbies, though. He says he'd never recover from that. And he doesn't tell good bedtime stories. He does his best."

He probably didn't, really.
