Bruce Wayne was leaving town. Considering how that went last time Bruce left, it might be a while - his time, at least - before he was back. So he was going away in a way he would remember no matter how much he claimed he wouldn't: with an open bar.

Come one, come all, drink on Bruce's dime and listen to whatever that was that the zombies were playing.

Ask Tino for drinks and drink with Bruce!

It was always a little weird getting drinks from Tino for some reason. Kitty didn't know why, that was just the way it was. She got one anyway, though, and found Bruce, saying, "If you're gonna go out, do so with an open bar."

"I live my life with that theory," Bruce said. "I just wish I could apply that motto to individual rooms."

"Something to strive for," Kitty smiled. "Actually, I wouldn't be surprised if Fandom managed that one day. And only for one day."

"If it does, call me and I'll see if I can make it back in time," Bruce said.

"I'll text you," Kitty promised. "Gonna miss that sort of thing?"

"As long as it's something like that, sure," Bruce said. "But fish falling from the sky or monsters or what have you? I think I can live without a lot of that."

"What, you didn't like the lampreys?" Kitty teased. "But they have such terrifying teeth!"

"There's a reason why I stayed indoors that day," Bruce said. "I don't need fish fangs digging into my arms."

"They were fine as long as you had an umbrella," she said. "And if you didn't mind the sound when they hit it."

"That's the thing. I absolutely mind that," Bruce said. "Also, eventually the lamprey are going to ruin my umbrella."

"Yeah, but umbrellaas can be replaced," Kitty said. "Rain of candy might eventually ruin your umbrella too, but that doesn't stop anyone."

It was possible she was not taking 'rain of lampreys' seriously.

"Not as quickly," Bruce pointed out. "Or as disgustingly. That's probably the bigger point."

Kitty paused. "Now I'm stuck thinking that all that sealife that fell from the sky this week had to have died immediately. Or even before it hit our umbrellas. Oh god."

"I remember the sharknado," Bruce said. "If those things could survive being flung through the air at high speeds, I think smaller fish can survive a simple drop. And since they're just gone the next day, we can probably write it off as magic returning them home alive."

Kitty made a face. "I missed the bulk of the flying sharks because I was trapped in a flooded convenience store with a couple swimming ones."

"And I mostly stayed in my hotel room, shark-free," Bruce noted. "You really should consider staying home during some of that stuff."

"But that's so boring," Kitty said.

"I've always preferred Gotham City's type of exciting," Bruce said. "Inside of two weeks, the entire city might be under threat of being frozen by a madman. But at least I won't have to worry about fish teeth."

"My home's got threats like that, too," she said thoughtfully. "Wouldn't be shocked if fish teeth factored in at some point, actually. But I'm glad you get to go back to your normal."

"Thanks, Kitty," Bruce said. "It's been a nice change of pace here, but it really is time to go back to that even more familiar kind of crazy."

"And of course you're going to be in touch and everything," she said.

"As much as I can," Bruce said. "The last time I was home for any amount of time, I was cut off from Fandom for months locally, fifteen years my time."

"Yeah, we're going to cross our fingers that that doesn't happen again," Kitty said, actually doing it.

Drink without having to bother with Bruce.

Drink while avoiding the party altogether.

This will, naturally, be Bruce's last post in Fandom for a while. He'll be back for visits and, eventually, as an old man.
