The Perk, Saturday Morning
Natalie's plans with her parents visiting Brazil had gotten delayed, so last night she'd taken advantage of a portal deal back to fandom, in the hopes of meeting some friends and maybe flagging Jim down for a visit too.
So of course this morning she'd woken up with no recollection of that. Or anything else, beyond what she'd actually been able to see around her, which had been a hotel room and a bag with far too few personal belongings. The things in the wallet offered some insight, but all of it was baffling, and distressingly unfamiliar.
She'd obviously needed to clear her head, so she'd headed out. And once she'd bought coffee at this place called 'the Perkolator', she took a seat at table by the window and began to go through the contents of the wallet – her wallet? – in earnest.
It was very confusing and she didn't like it one bit.
[ooc: Open for Nat-bothering as well as for any other Perk needs you might have!]

Of course, waking up this morning, he had no memory of that. In fact, he had no memory of anything. All he knew was that he was seeing a lot of different colors when he happened across people.
Pushing into the Perk was no different. The girl in there was comprised of nice, soothing warm tones so he felt comfortable, at least. Still didn't feel great but he wasn't scared.
He was also maybe staring a bit.

She looked up, raising her eyebrows. "Can I help you with something?"
(The answer was probably no, since she couldn't even help herself.)

"Sorry sorry," he mumbled. "I didn't mean to stare. Your colors just caught my attention."
He thought that made perfect sense since he thought maybe everyone was able to see what he was seeing. It probably made no sense at all.

Even if she still looked confused. "What?"
no subject
That sounded creepy, didn't it?
"I don't know what I mean," he said apologetically. "I don't know much of anything right now. You don't know me, by any chance, do you?"
no subject
But she didn't know anyone or anything else, either. Which was making her anxious, even if it didn't show on her face.
"Sorry."

"Do you know anything else at all?" she asked then, carefully. Trying to figure out whether she wasn't alone in being completely clueless. "Do you remember... well, anything?"
no subject
no subject
"Yeah. Same here."
no subject
"Hey Natalie," he said, offering up a hand to her. "Sam LaCroix. And now you know as much about me as I know about me. Hopefully there's a little more to me or else I'm really boring."

The tattoos were a little weird to discover but not indicative of a car accident.
"Wouldn't someone else know me and be looking out for me if I was in an accident?"
no subject
Maybe that was a little mean. But it was also a possibility! Seriously, they were two amnesiacs and that was distressing.

"It's not like we can know that, either way."

"Did you forget I'm in the exact same situation?"
So maybe she didn't have any friends either.

Sorry if there was anxiety wafting off of her. It was kind of hard to contain.
no subject
"Don't be so anxious," he said, shaking his head. "There's an explanation. There always is."
Right?
