The Devil's Nest, Friday Evening

Allie wasn't thrilled with her Santa hat, but given some of the other Christmas weirdness that had been going on, she was willing to put up with it.

She was perched near the bar, using her phone to check out information about motorcycles.

"Just checking. With Kaidan gone and Nick leaving last week I was starting to get worried I was going to be the last one left here," Allie explained.

"You've had a rough year," Kitty realized. "No worries on me. I'm sticking around for the foreseeable future and will be sure to give you warning when Clint and I even start thinking about it."

If she "died" in comics book fashion first, she couldn't be held responsible, though.

Allie smiled, grateful for the news. "As long as Portalocity doesn't shut me down, it's still good. I figure I'm just going to rack up miles visiting people."

Kitty got a shoulder shrug in answer. "I'm doing okay. I miss them, but I get that they have lives they need to get back to."

Allie had her doubts about that. "Nick should be able to visit the next time we play Cards Against Humanity. But Kaidan's got his hands full at the moment."

"Uhhh, yesterday I fought a giant monster in New York alongside my ex-boyfriend that I thought was dead till recently and then I had a Hanukkah dinner with an orange rock-guy. Nothing out of the ordinary."

"Apparently here on the island week or so ago. I heard something about hostile ghosts. But I wouldn't know because I spent a week as a bat."

Considering it had happened before, Allie wasn't quite as outraged. And it was better then being a puppy and having Jack take pictures of her being cute.
