Caritas, Saturday Evening
Mike still had his beard and his mustache, because no one had convinced him to give them up yet, and he was actually starting to get a little used to them.
But that wasn't really what was on his mind tonight. He'd been listening to the radio, and while he hadn't been paying a ton of attention to the island over the last week or so, even he still had an uneasy feeling about the way the wildlife and nature on the island seemed to be acting. Maybe it was nothing. Maybe it was something.
He was trying to stay optimistic. At least the island didn't seem to be invaded this week?
TONIGHT'S SPECIAL
Calm Voyage
Caritas was open.
[ooc: Open, no ocd!]

"Guess what I got," she grinned at Mike.

He was not a great guesser. But he looked amused, so maybe that made up for it somehow.

Since he wasn't psychic, she started emptying the bags on the bar. From one plastic bag she pulled out several chocolate bars she'd gotten at a chain drugstore. From the other, much fancier bag, she pulled out a selection of chocolates (http://mapetiteshoe.com/chocolate-1). "I remembered how we'd talked about if there was a difference in chocolates. I thought we could do a little taste testing."

Hold on.
"Wait, don't you –– I mean, wasn't there a whole thing about how you can't taste it or something?"

"I did," Allie admitted. "But now I don't. I don't need to worry about the sun either. Or sleeping during the day."

Well, that's what it sounded like to him!

So...moving on to important things.
"So where do we start? The every day stuff and then work our way up?"

A piece of a plain Hershey bar seemed like a good place to start.

She nibbled a piece of the Hershey bar and smiled. "Tasty."

"I loved it. There were dinosaur bones and tools that were made thousands of years ago." She paused and tried to sum up why it was so important to her. "I always knew we'd lost a lot of knowledge when everything went to hell. But to actually see how much was kind of sad."
