The Beach, Thursday Afternoon
After a stop at the Perk for a coffee while she sent out a quick Guess who's visiting! text to folks she thought might be around or have time to visit, Karla made her way to the beach for a bit. It was winter back home, almost Winsol in fact, so visiting here in the beginning of summer was a lovely change. She vanished her jacket and shirt, kicked off her shoes, and rolled her pants up to her knees. Just a Queen, wading by the shoreline in her bra and a pair of Court trousers, enjoying the feel of the sun on her skin and giving no fucks about what anybody had to say about it.
You know, until Draca sent for her, this really was the best way to pass the time.
[Open! If you think you got a text, you did. If you didn't get a text, it's still open!]

He cleared his throat. Loudly. "Did you still want to see people, or is this a private moment?"

He shrugged off his shirt. Sun on the skin felt nice to a werewolf, too.

Stupid politics. Stupid politics forever.

[OOC: Sorry, crashed HARD last night.]

"Sometimes I weep all over the broad expanse of Warren's chest, I long for you so." She slid her arm through his and dimpled at him. "You should come visit. Aren't your classes over for the semester? Come to Sidra, confuse the Hell out of the kindred wolves, dote on my ridiculously adorable daughter...you know, all the fun stuff. You need more fun. All work and no play makes Jack--well, you could never be dull, but probably at least a little grumpy."
[YOU LEFT ME AND I WEPT!]

Which, okay, might not be the best incentive for visiting. But still--better than law school?

She thought about it for another few moments before declaring. "Strippers. Classy ones, of course, since this is an important occasion. But definitely strippers."

He asked lightly, but it was a sincere question.

"Karla," he greeted her with a smile. "It's been far too long. How are you?"

"But I'm sure you didn't come here to talk about politics. For you." He handed her the neatly-wrapped box of truffles he'd made.

"Jaenelle did that," she said quietly. "She wove a tangled web and left it in the woods where people were trapping kindred wolves. It held them until there was only one trapper left and then lifted to show him exactly the skins he'd been taking."
Her grin was small and malicious, but grew wider and more genuine as she took the box from him. "Oooh! They're still warm! Darling, you spoil me!"

He chuckled at her reaction to the chocolates. "My pleasure, as always. They probably ought to be cooler, but you'll have to do the honors if you prefer them that way. Should I start keeping some stock on at all times?"

She took on, smiling at the way her fingers sank into it, and popped it into her mouth.
"Mmmm," she said, giving herself up to the flavor for a moment. "You should keep them on hand. Not even for me. Just because a little bit of heaven on earth is not something to be lightly discarded, Mother Night."

[Bedtime for me! SP?]

And was finding it really irritating to be have that dismissed because she was Kayla's mother, considering that she was a Healer who outranked them all.
"But we'll see. If she doesn't stop fussing by her birthday, I'll bring her here and see what technology can tell me that Craft cannot."
[Of course!]

Neither was a good option.
"So it's mostly the Craft equivalent of baby aspirin."
