It was a weird day so far at Caritas. When Kitty got in, Tino was in his underwear because apparently he'd gotten locked out of his place? So she lent him the key to her office (which she had to find, since she usually kept it locked) since she had an extra pair of clothes in there from her "My wardrobe might malfunction at work at any time" days, and now Tino was wearing a pair of what looked like skinny jeans on him and actually looked pretty good in them. Go, Tino.

Meanwhile, at the bar, there was a special.

"What's good for crushing disappointment?" Jessica asked as she flopped down onto a bar stool.

"Usually vodka," Kitty said. "I'd ask if everything's okay, but..."

"And I'll answer that by ordering vodka," Jessica said.

"Want to talk about it?" Kitty asked, getting a glass.

"I've spent the past couple months trying to prove that my Earth still existed and now I'm trying to figure out how to prove that my results are wrong," Jessica said. "So today's awesome."

"Oh, god, I'm sorry," Kitty said, giving her the drink. "What have you been doing?"

"Portalocity couldn't give me any info, so Tony Stark helped me build a portal of my own," Jessica said before taking a drink. "I traced my own dimensional radiation and tracked it back to... kind of a void. I got literally no readings. So, either my portal doesn't work right, my location isn't right, or there's nothing where my entire dimension is."

"It's probably one of the first two things if it's your first try," Kitty said thoughtfully. "I mean, locating a dimension can't be the simplest thing."

"I've done it before," Jessica said. "Slightly different circumstances, but." The glass was on its way back up wen it stopped suddenly.

"Huh. There's something I may need to look into."

"Like what?" She didn't want to pry, but she was a science geek.

"A few months ago when I first got back here, it was to fight a nasty energy vampire lady. I had a portal device to recruit some people and used it to keep her from making it to Fandom," Jessica explained. "If that device stored dimensional coordinates, I should be able to compare my data to its history. Maybe even get a few other locations to check out...."

"Right," she realized. "The Spider-dongles and all, to keep her out. I mean, if it had to lock her out from here, I'd think it at least had the ability to store something."

"I just hope it doesn't move things to the trash after a certain amount of time," Jessica said, putting the drink down. "I have to go. This is more important than drinking my sorrows away, sorry to say"

"Understood. And if you need any help, let me know," Kitty said.
