Tiny had gotten hold of an entire case of Red Solo cups and was building an elaborate structure across the bar and towards the VIP area. When Allie asked why, he muttered something about not being outdone by Tino.

Apparently bar flunky rivalry was a thing.

Kitty walked into the bar and stopped when she saw the cups. "Interesting night?"

"Someone needs better hobbies," Allie said, rolling her eyes. "Or less of a competitive streak."

"Ahhh," she said, getting it. "Then I probably shouldn't point out that Tino was working with glass."

"Yeah, but I think he's going for sheer numbers." She pointed towards the cardboard box. "There's a thousand cups in their. I don't know about Caritas, but I know we don't have that much glass on hand."

"...Suddenly I'm really scared of what I'm going to walk into when I get to work," Kitty realized.

Allie grinned. "Whatever it is. I want pictures."

"You'll get them. Unless I'm too busy yelling about broken glass," Kitty said. "How are you?"

"Good. Kaidan was back in town this week for a quick visit. It was good to see him in one piece," she replied. "What about you? Things a little calmer this week?" She hadn't heard radio all week.

"Ha, no. But it's the good kind of insane," Kitty said, holding up her hand to show off the ring.

"Oh pretty," was Allie's first response, then the probable meaning of the ring sunk in. "Is that what I think it is?"

"Clint decided he wants to be stuck with me for life, yes," Kitty smiled. "Poor guy."

"That's wonderful! I'm so happy for both of you!" And don't be too shocked Kitty, but Allie was moving in for a hug of congratulations.

"Thank you," Kitty said, hugging her back. "It might be finally sinking in, maybe."

"I guess it takes some getting used to?" she asked. "In a good way though."

"It really does. It might be because we've had so many fakeouts between Fandom weirdness and stuff at home, so it's weird that it's not being undone," Kitty admitted. "And then I got to have a super awkward talk with my ex about it and made all my friends who've known me since I was thirteen feel really old and the more I say it the more real it gets."

"Then you'll have to keep saying it, as many times as you need to." Allie would listen as long as Kitty needed. "You know you're the first person I know that's gotten engaged."

"Really? I guess there aren't a lot of weddings back home, really," Kitty said.

"Nope. Some of the old people were, or at least had been. But there wasn't anything official anymore," she said. "But that's there. I know it's different here. Does this mean you're going to do the whole dress and party thing?"

"I think so. We haven't really planned anything out yet but I'd like everyone to be there. And my whole fashion life has led up to me wearing a wedding dress."

Thank god she'd outgrown the "legwarmers and roller skates" sense of style.

"The planning part sounds scary." Allie had accidentally stumbled across a mini-marathon of Bridezillas once. She was still scarred.

"Clint says he'll help there," Kitty said. "And really, if we can figure out where when there are three worlds involved, the rest should be a cinch."

"I'll help too." Mostly by supplying booze when needed. "I have no idea what I'm doing, but how hard could it be?"

"Thanks. I do have memories of an AU where this happened, though. I know there were spreadsheets involved," Kitty said thoughtfully.

"I'm not sure if I should be horrified or not," she admitted. "But I guess it's a good way of being organized."

"I think of it as a positive side effect of worrying too much," Kitty said, a little proudly.

"That's a good attitude." And when that didn't work, Allie would hit things for her.
