Groovy Tunes, Saturday
This evening, Jono had a concert to look forward to, but during the day he had to concede a chunk of his time to that whole 'being a business owner' thing that he had going for him. So today he could be found at the Groovy Tunes, wrinkling his nose a bit at the shipment that he'd just gotten in.
It was beginning. He'd tried to pretend it wasn't, but here it was, staring up at him with a CD sleeve covered in joy and jingle-bell print. He could handle moderate amounts of the first, but by the end of December he was going to be so sick of it and the second that he'd be ready to just take the stereo and throw it out a window.
The stereo, perhaps sensing this promise of impending doom, took it upon itself to play selections from the new Dylan compilation anthology instead.
Wise choice, stereo. Wise choice. While it was doing that, Jono was going to hide all of the Christmas CDs away under the counter with a note to not even think of putting these on the shelves until at least the first of December. They were going to have to listen to festive music all bloody month, he was not starting that nonsense now.
He signed it, 'Bah, humbug.'
