Tamsin's Office, Town Hall, Thursday Afternoon

"Didn't I give you the day off?"

Tamsin could distinctly remember giving Bright Eyes the week off, actually.

"Oh, no, no no no," Bright Eyes said, enthusiastically picking through stacks of paperwork. "No, no, no, we can't have that."

Tamsin pulled a face. "Well, can you at least have a day out of my office? Shoo. Go work at home."

Bright Eyes clutched the paperwork to her breast. (Several sheets of it fell to the floor.) "... Can I keep this?"

"Just get out of my sight," Tamsin sighed, and sank further into her chair.

"And there's another one!"

Tamsin sounded horribly offended by this, and her eyes narrowed at the guard who had started speaking. "You call this security?" she snapped. "Why aren't you over there, protecting us from... whatever that is!"

His partner looked like he'd investigate any noise to avoid getting yelled at about now. Someone wasn't cut out for SHIELD here. "It's not like this guy is going anywhere," he muttered.

The previous talker glared over at him before looking back at Tamsin and feeling the fear of Maria Hill in his bones. "Of course, ma'am."

Awww, they were so gonna get fired.

"Well, why are you still standing here?" Tamsin snapped. "Go! Go! Go! The hospital could be on fire by now!"

A moment after they ran with their tails between their legs, Tony was moving past her and into the quiet room without a second glance.

Sorry, Tamsin. He'd thank you in a little bit.

"You're welcome," Tamsin called after him, then rolled her eyes and moved to guard the door.

In his defense, it was a trying time! For everyone involved.

"Tony," Pepper said, pushing herself up out of the awful chair provided in the room to hug him. It'd be great if he could keep from having so many personal crises so she could maintain some professionalism.

On the bed was a man wrapped up in bandages and depending on countless beeping machines to keep him stable. Because this is what happens when you stay friends with one Tony Stark.

He hugged Pepper back, turning his gaze away from where Happy lay.

Tamsin peeked into the room, making note of Pepper and the guy in bandages. She said nothing, though.

She also had to keep an eye on the hallway.
