Half priced alcohol? Well, count Goody in. Especially now that he knew teachers in this century were paid way more than they were where he was from.

No one let him know it's still not that much. Those poor, poor teachers.

Well, after the Korean girl and then finding Faraday of all people, Billy had finally found the man he'd actually been looking for.

And once that happened, stopped a little short to figure out what he was supposed to do now. Goody was the talker, not him.

Goody turned in his seat so fast he nearly fell off. Because he knew that voice.

"Billy?"

Yep. They definitely knew each other's names. Good for them.

Billy nodded, just a barely there ducking of his chin in response to that. His hands twitched for something to do with them as he glanced around the bar for who might have been watching them.

No, he did not know to look for fucking squirrels.

Propriety was a bitch and a half when your very good 'travelling companion' showed up out of nowhere.

Goody took a breath, stepping a hair too close into Billy's personal space to put his hands on the man's shoulders to confirm he was actually here and this wasn't some alcohol induced hallucination. "I was starting to get concerned," he teased. "Mr. Rocks."

"Goody," he replied quietly, making it sound like an apology.

It took Goody a moment to work through the sheer joy of seeing Billy again to catch that. And when he did, he just looked confused before also checking that they weren't exactly drawing a crowd.

Then very slowly pulled his hands back. "What's wrong? This is--we're in the future. It sounds crazy, but it's true. They elected a black man as president. And we're supposed to say black instead of colored," he said with a smile that was just verging on desperate.

Because he knew how to read Billy's expression. And it didn't look great.

"The cat might've been a better sound," Kitty said, "but they're very proud."

"Oh, only pride could be the cause of this," Goody agreed easily. "That I do not doubt."

"Pride and not caring about anybody else's eardrums." Because theirs didn't work. "Can I get you anything?"

"A whiskey would be lovely, cher," he replied with a toothy grin.

"Coming right up," she said, turning to get a glass. "Are you visiting or new?"

"I am newly arrived with the school session," he replied, offering a hand to shake. "Goodnight is my name."

Faraday had sat at his shop for about two minutes after Billy left before he made a decision and got up to follow him. And now he was in the bar, flagging down the bartender. "Hey," he hissed, low so as not to interrupt the touching reunion scene going on between two very good traveling companions. "Excuse me, miss?"

"How can I help you?" Kitty said, coming over.

"You see the gentleman with the fleur de lis over there?" Faraday asked her. "First thing, you can send him and his friend a drink on me. And second thing," and he was about as serious as he ever got as he asked, "If he ever looks like he's aiming to drink himself to death, could you call me?" He had a telephone now!

"Yeah," Kitty said, frowning. "Is that going to be an issue?"

"Well, I don't know," Faraday allowed. "I'm hoping not to find out. But uh. Just in case." He tipped his head toward Goody and Billy and explained, "His friend's only visiting. They're real close."

Not that he was implying anything that he hadn't been informed wasn't illegal any more, mind you.

"Aha, okay," Kitty said, though that wasn't a big deal to her at all. "Are you from here then?"

"We're from California in 1879, but Goody and I apparently live here now. Mr. Rocks...apparently lives beyond the veil." If you took his meaning, Kitty.
