Groovy Tunes, Saturday
The stereo today was playing sad songs about cats.
Jono wasn't sure why. Jono really wasn't sure what in the world he'd done to even deserve it. And it wasn't bad music in the least. But it wasn't happy music, and for that, he was side-eyeing the stereo hard, today.
Sad songs about cats.
Honestly, now.

"What are you listening to?"

He was absolutely not having an attack of feelings, damn it. And totally hadn't been all bloody day.

Okay, they were about sad cats and depression.
Even so.

//Around here?// Jono gave his shoulders a shrug. //Hell if I know. I'd say so, if only because... Fandom's weird.//

And that was only sometimes a good thing.
//Yourself?//

Well. "Still" wasn't quite the word for it. But staying generally in one place, sure.
"How can you be bored? You're running like, three businesses or something."

//Two businesses,// he replied, shrugging. //Just here and the Boards. And I wouldn't call what goes on at the Boards 'business,' really, anyway.//
So far, mostly he'd just given away a lot of alcohol.

//I'd kind of hoped that there were enough musicians on the island to be able to scrape together something local,// he admitted. //Otherwise... I don't know. I could call my friend Envy, perhaps. She's quite the successful musician, these days.//
Or, he supposed, he could call Alison. Because what the island needed was absolutely a Dazzler concert.

He could already think of a drummer and a guitarist offhand, at that.

Admittedly, this sometimes led to plans like walking across the continental United States.

//There's my problem,// Jono mused. //I overthink things. Always have. The few times I did just go for it blew up in my face.//
...
//Not literally. Mostly.//

... It actually was kind of fun, wasn't it?

What with the being on fire. He could just tell people that he sneezed.

And Ino would kill him. Even if he was damn near impossible to kill. She'd find a way.

Which could be interesting, granted.

He felt weird about it.

Well, the school blew up that one time. And the Nothing kind of imploded the island, once...
//But you make a good point. Alright, I'll give the radio a try. Just as soon as I figure out what it is I want to do, exactly.//

Raven would get on him for that little extra procrastination at the end there in a minute.
