The Boards, Sunday Afternoon

So, Jono was still in a decent mood today. He still had a face, so sue him. It was still not his face, but it wasn't like this was even the first time that was the case. Or the first wrong face, for that matter. And this one, at least, he could chalk up to Fandom weirdness and be reasonably certain he'd return to normal by tomorrow. Better to just enjoy what he had while he had it.

Which was why he was at the Boards today, in case any of the band decided they were feeling up for practice, with food set out for snacking on - mostly fresh fruit this time around, because if there was going to be snacking it was going to be something he liked - and Jonothon noodling away on a shiny red and black electric bass while he waited to see if people were going to show.

And you had better believe he was singing his own accompaniment today whenever the song he was playing called for vocals, too. The voice might not be his, but that didn't mean he didn't know how to use it.

It was going to be a fairly laid-back day at rehearsal today, unless anybody had anything in particular they wanted to do.

[OOC: Stop by and play! Flying without OCD today, might as well just frolic. Musically. Musical frolicking.]

Of course Hannibal was here. He caught the line of what Jono was playing, and improvised a piano line around it. He had to concentrate a little more than usual to stretch to the keys, but luckily his fingers were still long enough.

"We would need a few more instruments for Opeth," Hannibal answered, grinning back.

And starting to play "All of Me".

Hannibal smirked and winked at him, batting the pick away and going back to playing.

"You wanted to sing."
sharp_as_knives: (female - uh-huh sure)

And it was still a decent song. And it was enjoyable to hear Jono sing.

"You can pick the next song," he promised.

"Not at all," Hannibal answered. "I promise to do my best."

Hannibal blew one back. "I know. So?" He played a rambling bit of nothing, waiting for Jono to choose the next song.

Hannibal nodded. He thought for a moment, then began a melody that would work with that, even if it might not be precisely the original.

Also, he approved of the lyrics on this one, Jono.
sharp_as_knives: (female - oh really?)

Hannibal smiled over at him and kept playing, enjoying the music and adjusting his playing to match Jono's style more closely.

And letting him feel his own affection and amusement, too.

Hannibal grinned back and kept playing to the end, then bowed at Jono and leaned over for a kiss.

Hannibal chuckled. "More contralto, less soprano," he suggested. And then, because he had a better singing voice himself this weekend, he played a few notes before segueing into a rendition of "Bye Bye Blackbird".

That was rather nice, wasn't it?

Hannibal played the last notes and let them die away, waiting for Jono to pick the next song.

"We make a good pairing."

Hannibal laughed back, delighted, and found the notes to play.

Hannibal joined in a bit on the chorus, mostly leaving Jono to the real singing.

And then leaning in for another kiss, because why not?

"Speak for yourself," Hannibal said. "I am perfectly decorous."

"You complement me nicely." Hannibal smiled and leaned in for another kiss.

"Since nobody else seems to be showing, shall we head home?"

Hannibal shook his head. "What a pity I missed that."

"Hardly surprising," Hannibal said. "Nothing seems to dampen that."

It was possibly Kuzco's only redeeming quality, that cheerful exuberance.

Hannibal took that arm smiling. "Let's."

[identity profile] notouchykuzco.livejournal.com 2017-04-02 08:38 pm (UTC)(link)
Kuzco, in all his girlish glory, banged along on his tambourine at sort of the right times in the song.

Soooort of.

[identity profile] notouchykuzco.livejournal.com 2017-04-02 09:04 pm (UTC)(link)
He was going to try all the t instruments!

...maybe not the trombone. That would just end badly.

"Tell me, stranger, I'm a good looking llama, right?"

Dante and Kuzco had been discussing this.

[identity profile] notouchykuzco.livejournal.com 2017-04-02 09:41 pm (UTC)(link)
"I knew it!" Kuzco crowed, doing an obnoxious dance. "Tell Dante."
