The Boards, Sunday Afternoon
So, Jono was still in a decent mood today. He still had a face, so sue him. It was still not his face, but it wasn't like this was even the first time that was the case. Or the first wrong face, for that matter. And this one, at least, he could chalk up to Fandom weirdness and be reasonably certain he'd return to normal by tomorrow. Better to just enjoy what he had while he had it.
Which was why he was at the Boards today, in case any of the band decided they were feeling up for practice, with food set out for snacking on - mostly fresh fruit this time around, because if there was going to be snacking it was going to be something he liked - and Jonothon noodling away on a shiny red and black electric bass while he waited to see if people were going to show.
And you had better believe he was singing his own accompaniment today whenever the song he was playing called for vocals, too. The voice might not be his, but that didn't mean he didn't know how to use it.
It was going to be a fairly laid-back day at rehearsal today, unless anybody had anything in particular they wanted to do.
[OOC: Stop by and play! Flying without OCD today, might as well just frolic. Musically. Musical frolicking.]

Music playtime was one of his favourite types of playtime, dammit.
"Today, I want to sing," he announced, when they song they were playing came to an end. "I don't suppose you know anything with vocals to it that doesn't come from an opera?"
He was teasing, of course. He knew Hannibal had more varied musical tastes than that.
Mostly he just didn't want to mess up wickedly on anything that might be in, say, Italian.

And starting to play "All of Me".

This was not going to stop Jono from starting to sing, anyway.
"All of me,
Why not take all of me?
Can't you see that I'm no good without you?"
Really, he suspected there were reasons that Hannibal had chosen this song in particular beyond just the fact that Jonothon was likely to know it.
"Take my lips, I want to lose them..."
Excuse Jono. He needed to take this moment to crack up a little. And then throw a pick at Hannibal's head.

"You wanted to sing."
no subject
Maybe Hannibal was being a brat. That wasn't going to stop him from singing anyway.
no subject
"You can pick the next song," he promised.

He smirked faintly.
"How about Unchained Melody?"
He wanted to see how much he could push himself here, yes.

Also, he approved of the lyrics on this one, Jono.

"Oh, my love, my darling,
I've hungered for your touch..."
It was also a song that had moments that were still very distinctly Jonothon, even with all of the crazy vocal acrobatics he was working his way toward.

And letting him feel his own affection and amusement, too.

The slightly giddy look of sheer delight on his face when he managed it was unmistakable, too.

Yessssss.
"I'm going to need to pace myself on notes like that," he laughed, a bit breathlessly. "Or I'll spend th'rest of today mute again anyway."

He did wait to throw in a few harmonious embellishments with his own voice, though, because if there was one thing he enjoyed more than Hannibal singing, it was Hannibal singing with him singing harmony.

Hannibal played the last notes and let them die away, waiting for Jono to pick the next song.
"We make a good pairing."

He pursed his lips for a moment, considering what to sing next. And then he broke into a laugh.
"Sometimes, it's hard to be a woman..."
IT FIT, OKAY?

You'll have bad times
And he'll have good times,
Doin' things that you don't understand..."
Tammy Wynette, you had no idea how relevant this was to these two.
no subject
And then leaning in for another kiss, because why not?
no subject
"You know," he decided, "we are both utterly ridiculous."
He wouldn't have it any other way.

"Since nobody else seems to be showing, shall we head home?"

It was possibly Kuzco's only redeeming quality, that cheerful exuberance.
no subject
Even if he wasn't what Jonothon could call musically inclined.
"Indeed," he agreed, taking a moment to set his bass down and make sure all the equipment was properly turned off and put away. "I suspect we'll continue to see more of that, as well. In the meantime..." He offered Hannibal his arm. "Shall we?"

Soooort of.
no subject
And it wasn't the triangle! He was branching out! When the song was over, Jono grinned faintly and gave Kuzco a thumbs-up. Because he was in a damn fine mood, and even a llama on a tambourine couldn't ruin that for him today.
no subject
...maybe not the trombone. That would just end badly.
"Tell me, stranger, I'm a good looking llama, right?"
Dante and Kuzco had been discussing this.
no subject
You know. As far as llamas went.
"You're a perfectly lovely looking llama."

Probably. By llama standards.
