For some reason, there had been painters here when Kitty came in earlier to get some paperwork done. She hadn't hired them, but they were here anyway.

And to be honest, Kitty kind of liked the new look.

So tonight there were fans going to try and get the smell out, but it wasn't any harder talking over them than it was to talk over music?

"I like the new look," Atton mused as he stepped into the bar. "It's very... something."

"Thank you. I had nothing to do with it and feel vaguely weird about it," she greeted him. "What can I get for you?"

"A scotch," Atton said, sitting down at the bar. "And a list of who's hiring in this town."

"I can do the first one," she said, getting a glass. "And I don't know about anyone else but we've got a few free days. No teaching?"

"Nah, I figure I've been teaching for so long, I can ask for a free summer without immediately getting dragged back into the trauma conga-line back home," Atton said. He tilted his head. "Which days?"

"Friday and Sunday. Good weekend days with tips from people who may have people visiting or have a weird event happening," she pointed out.

"I can do Sundays," Atton said. "I mean, serve drinks and try not to stare at the zombie band too much. That can't be that hard."

"You get more used to the zombies once you've had to duct tape an arm back on," Kitty said helpfully.

"Okay, gross," Atton said, pulling a face. "Can't you just use a staple gun or something?"

"That's actually grosser than taping," Kitty said, making a face.

"Okay, fine, glue them on," Atton said. "Something more permanent than... whatever's happening over there now."
