The Park by the Duck Pond, Thursday Afternoon

Some days were just 'feeding the ducks' days. It didn't matter that Jono hadn't done so in entirely too long; now that spring was here, he was making time for it, stopping at J,GoB for a few plain bagels before swinging in the direction of the park. He'd brought a book with him as well, a collection of one-act plays that maybe he could swing putting on at the Boards. Someday. Eventually.

He was going to have to just suck it up and start doing open mic nights again or something, one of these days.

But for the time being, the book was being more or less ignored while Jono tore off pieces of bagel and threw them to the birds. It was even a nice day for it. And he wasn't going to admit just how much he'd missed doing this.

He wasn't even moping!

[OOC: I felt like posting a Jono. Not just because he had his first canon appearance in a year or two yesterday, honest. Flames out, post open!]

Early afternoon, Jono would get a text message:

I was thinking of duck tonight. Any requests?

They were both on...similar?...wavelengths.

Jono pulled out his phone, read the message, and looked between it and the ducks before loosing a psionic pulse that might as well have been an amused snort.

Duck? Any particular reason?

Hannibal got the message, shrugged, and sent back,

I was in the mood for it. I'm open to other suggestions, if you have a preference.

[furnaceface]

No preference, really. Mostly just amused that you're suggesting duck for dinner.

And then he sent Hannibal a photo of the small flock of birds gathered around his ankles, waiting for more bread.

Hannibal got the picture, took a look at it, and laughed.

Should I promise it won't be a friend, or ask you to bring one with you?

[furnaceface]

Bring one with me? What would you have me do, just reach down and casually pick one up? Tuck it into my coat?

In fairness, for enough bagel he might even be able to get away with it.

It was entirely Jono's choice.

I think mostly it'd just result in me having to clean duck shit out of my jacket.

He was not that invested in bringing home fresh duck that he couldn't even eat. So.

Hannibal chuckled.

In that case, I'll use the one I have. Which brings me back to my original question: do you have any other requests?

[furnaceface]

Oh, Hannibal. Much as Jono appreciated that you were asking, it was your mouth, after all.

Nothing leaps to mind, really. What goes well with duck?

More duck?

Potatoes, brussels sprouts, artichokes if I can find decent ones.

It was Hannibal's mouth, but Jono was likely to share, after all. It was only polite to ask.

[furnaceface]

Works out nicely; I just so happen to enjoy all of those things.

He was pretty sure, anyway. It wasn't like Jono could remember the last time he'd eaten artichoke.

Hannibal smiled.

I'll decide upon something, then. See you at home for dinner. Preferably without excrement in your coat.
