Quark's, Friday, Grand Opening!

It had been a long couple of weeks, but the place was finally ready. The bar was all set up. The dabo tables were all set up, and manned by the prettiest humans Quark was able to talk into working for him (they weren't the best he'd ever found, but then, humans had never made great dabo girls). The replicators were set up and programmed with all sorts of ridiculous human foods, there were decanters of real blood wine all set for the more discerning palates, and the holosuites were (mostly) debugged and ready to go.

Now all he needed were some customers.

"I miss Morn."

"I have no idea what that is," Kanan noted, "but I'm willing to give it a try. It'll be nice to spend some time using holotechnology for fun again. The school has their danger shop, but... danger's right there in the name. It's not generally meant for entertainment."

Plus, since he wasn't currently teaching, he couldn't just saunter in and make use of it for his own personal gains anyway.

"That's some terrible advertising, right there," Quark noted. "You might as well name the place 'the death room'." He shook his head. "My holosuites are top of the line, full safeties on by default. Now, let's see. Do you want trains or wasps?"

"... Wasps?"

Mystery bugs? That right there was enough to grab Kanan's attention. He tilted his head, and then finally took a swig of his wine.

Huh.

There was a lot going on in his mouth, but the bit that his brain was most willing to grab onto was the part where he was definitely going to be feeling this drink later.

"As a murder weapon," Quark said, waggling his brow-ridges. "Classic, right?"

Oh yeah, there was that non-Klingon bloodwine look. Quark was going to make some bank of Kanan tonight.

He really, really was.

"... Different," Kanan settled on, and then went back for another mouthful. The jury was still out on what he thought of the taste, but considering how much money he spent on it, he wasn't going to leave a drop in that flagon, dammit. "Different enough for me to be intrigued, at least."

Kanan, never admit your sense of intrigue to a Ferengi.

Or always do it! Quark would err on the side of "always".

"Worth giving it a try if nothing else. Buy a second drink and I'll give you an hour and a half in the suite for free."

Kanan squinted at his drink, calculated the odds of him being able to get out of here on two feet if he went for seconds, mostly because seconds tended to lead do thirds, and then shrugged. He was bad at doing calculations once alcohol came into the equation anyway.

"Hell, why not. It's your grand opening, I might as well give it a spin and see what it's about."

Wasps, Kanan. Keep up.

"That's the spirit. I can tell already: you and me, we're going to be good friends."

"If there's more bloodwine where this came from, then I'm inclined to agree," Kanan decided.

Because Kanan was sometimes an idiot.
