Groovy Tunes, Sunday
So, graduation yesterday had been... nice? Mostly nice. The scorpions notwithstanding, of course. But those were to be expected, Jonothon supposed, as he settled in behind the counter at the Groovy Tunes and started going through a few CDs that had been left at the counter on Thursday by customers who had been unable to pay for them, for some reason. Did nobody on the island pay with debit or credit anymore?
Around here anything was possible, granted.
Feeling vaguely lazy today, Jono pulled out his phone and sent a text around to a few of his friends.
When did high school graduates start getting so young?
There. Even if business was slow while the new grads entertained their guests, at least he could spend his day texting back and forth with Jubilee about feeling old. His day was set.
[OOC: Open! If you want to also have gotten Jono's text, by all means!]

[Fleeing for bed, couldn't resist.]

Honestly, now. Jono loved you, Karla, but why did you have to be like that?
[YESSSSS.]

REALLY want to be 18 again? Do you remember 18? We were idiots.
"Now send him a text saying you're legitimately asking if he can remember 18."
"Stop stirring up trouble and go make sure your offspring aren't trying to burn the estate down. Again."

Stupid Age of X. Stupid whatsisface with the broom hair. Stupid... stupid.
Some little voice in Jono's head was calling him stupid right on back. With all the fortitude that came from several years of experience, he ignored it.

She paused a moment before sending the second text.
There is no force on any of the worlds I've seen, heard of, or visited that can stop you from complaining when you set your mind to it. So grump away, darling. It reminds me of old times. <3

He was giving her fair warning now. Because when it came to his ability to complain, she wasn't wrong.

She hadn't said no!
And my sort-of daughter is going back to her own world for the summer and I'm going to go utterly mad with worry.
... Had he ever spoken to Karla about Alluka?
Oops.

At least he understood that? That was good, right?

//Christ, Karla,// Jono muttered, switching his phone to his other ear and wincing. //It's not that I didn't call you on purpose. The whole situation sort of snuck up on me.//
Years ago.

She knew you, Jono!

Jonothon hung his head a little at that. He knew what he did.

Hello to you too, Jono.

It really was. Things were still far too complicated when it came to the Emma in his own world. This one, though? This Emma was more 'his' Emma anyway.
