Luke's, Sunday
Kanan hadn't lingered around anywhere this morning upon waking up to find himself normal again. He'd slipped out the door to give Stance his morning walk, dropped him off back at the apartment again, and then made his way to Luke's, because he'd be damned if he'd let the last half a week stop him from living his kriffing life.
The busboy regarded him with some level of amusement, and Kanan wasn't sure if it was because the pink and the blue streak were still in his hair from Thursday night, or if it was because of the whole situation in general, so he decided to ignore it right up until the guy opened his mouth.
"Good morning, Ca--"
Kanan fixed him with a glare that could have melted durasteel.
"--nan."
Better.
Today's Specials:
Pancake bar. You want toppings, do it yourself.
Specials board achieved, Kanan settled in to wipe down the counter with a vague aura of menace about him for the rest of the day.
[OOC: Open! Cranky Padawan is cranky but probably wouldn't take much to loosen up again, honest.]

Besides, maybe she just liked seeing his face.
Even if she didn't know which face she'd be seeing.

He hadn't even opened his mouth to say hello when the busboy popped into the frame.
"Careful, he's a biter today!"
Kanan growled and shoved him back out of frame.
"Hey, Summer."

And then her expression settled into a faint, relieved sort of smile. "Hey, BDG. How you doing? Besides having to deal with the usual idiots?"
no subject
Because oof. This week had certainly happened, hadn't it?
no subject
And instead of delving right into that, she just decided to ask, "You didn't really bite anyone, did you?"
Granted, if he had, the bitee probably deserved it, buuuut...

The busboy snorted as he walked by to clear a table.

That was a sincere offer, too. Sometimes weekends meant needing hugs.

Spotting Kanan, taking in the dyed hair and the scowl, Kaidan greeted him with, "It didn't happen, and even if it did, we weren't here. I'll be your alibi if you'll be mine. Right now, though, I'm in heavy need to carboload and eat my feelings, so what kind of toppings would you suggest?"
no subject
Denial was great. So great.

He rubbed the back of his neck instead. Damn you, Caleb.
"For the time being."
It was a close thing, though.
"You?"
no subject
He shrugged over his plate of pancakes ala sugar rush, "I'm.. processing the jinx. It was an odd experience."

She let him go, left him some time to himself, then showed up at the diner and slid onto a stool, waiting.

Not long, no. He saw her sit down, after all, and would have hated himself if he ignored her completely. But it was a good five minutes before he found the nerve to actually walk to her end of the counter, and by that point he felt like he was going to crawl out of his skin.
"... So."
So.

He... was not moving toward the pancakes. Or the Coke.
"So," he said again. Because that seemed like a great way to kind of segue into... something. "This week. That was a thing."

So yeah, she was contemplating her banana split and doing the Parker version of brooding, which involved absent-mindedly stealing little packets of salt and those tiny cream cups.
