The Beach, Tuesday Night

Ino had sent an island-wide text to the beach: Firework party at the beach tonight!

She and Reno hadn't really had to do much past that. It wasn't a birthday party, or a surprise party, and the beach and the fireworks would be more than enough decoration for a spur of the moment thing like this.

There was pizza (of all kinds), chips, soda, and Reno'd been good to his word for grabbing a few cases of beer and coolers. She'd brought a couple of blankets and lawn chairs down to the beach for people who didn't think ahead to bring their own.

Groovy Tunes had been cheerfully ransacked (she'd left Jono a sticky note asking permission) and so music was blaring out over the beach, inviting people to come on down if her text message hadn't been enough for them.

Even if no one else showed up, it was going to be a good time. Explosions, music, food, and fun were going to happen no matter what.

"I hope you still feel that way after the first few times the island tries to kill you," she settled on.

"It would still be unique," Hernando protested softly, "An island has never tried to kill me before. I have not yet been to Australia."

She blinked.

Then laughed.

"I think we can find you unique, pretty things that won't try to kill you!"

Because oh no, that was precious. And weird. Super weird.

"I would greatly prefer those, yes," Hernando agreed with a smile.

"I've got a couple of flowers you'd like to see then," she suggested, tilting her head slightly. "They ain't flowers that exist in this world at all."

Hernando's entire face lit up with joy, "Truly, I would love to see such flowers."

"Then we'll make it happen," she said easily. "I usually open my shop on Fridays; I've got a personal greenhouse there. But if Fridays don't work for you, just let me know and I can open another day."

Ino spent a lot of time at her shop anyway. It just wasn't always open for customers.

"I close T42 around six in the evening," Hernando said, "I could meet you at your shop after that, if that is convenient for you? On weekends, I am only open until 2pm, if that would be a better time."

"Nah, that's fine," she said, smiling. "I ain't fussed 'bout getting home early--I'm usually still there for a few hours at least, even if the shop says it's closed. Come by after work, that's no problem at all."

"I shall come by Friday after work then," Hernando agreed cheerfully, "to see your beautiful flowers that will not kill me. Thank you for the invitation."
