The Beach, Tuesday Night

Ino had sent an island-wide text to the beach: Firework party at the beach tonight!

She and Reno hadn't really had to do much past that. It wasn't a birthday party, or a surprise party, and the beach and the fireworks would be more than enough decoration for a spur of the moment thing like this.

There was pizza (of all kinds), chips, soda, and Reno'd been good to his word for grabbing a few cases of beer and coolers. She'd brought a couple of blankets and lawn chairs down to the beach for people who didn't think ahead to bring their own.

Groovy Tunes had been cheerfully ransacked (she'd left Jono a sticky note asking permission) and so music was blaring out over the beach, inviting people to come on down if her text message hadn't been enough for them.

Even if no one else showed up, it was going to be a good time. Explosions, music, food, and fun were going to happen no matter what.

"Here for explosions?" Ino carolled.

"Here for whatever you've got." Bob gave her an appreciative once-over before giving her a smile and a little bow. "Bob, at your service."

She always did like being appreciated. Her grin widened.

"Iris," she said, "at yours. In theory, anyway. In practice I'm kind of terrible at being at anyone's service."

Bob grinned. "Tell me about it. So, what brings on this need for explosions?"

"Felt like it," Ino admitted cheerfully. "Ain't really no bad sort of day for explosions and we were teachin' 'em in class earlier and thought, hell, why not have more fun? 'Sides, our class is kind of hopeless when it comes to the really fun explosions, so we had to baby it down for 'em."
