Peter stood up front and gave a little wave. "Welcome back everyone from before, and welcome new people. We're going to keep watching modern Earth entertainment so we can hopefully figure out a bit more about modern culture. Or remember it. Or just have a fun time and eat some popcorn."

He waved at the table to one side, which had plenty of popcorn, chips, and soda.

"Tonight we're watching one of the biggest recent movies, called meta for Black Panther. I hope everybody enjoys it."

Right. Well. Kaidan had mentioned something about this thing, and so here was Fjord.

Like a big green wallflower who was content, for the time being, to observe the room.

And here was Peter, showing up to say hi to the new guy.

"Hi there." He gave him a wave and a lopsided smile. "I'm Peter. You're new?"

"Ah, yeah, I'm quite new," Fjord replied, returning that lopsided smile with one of his own. "I'm Fjord. Just arrived here the other day."

"Hi, Fjord." Hera waved on her way past.

"Ms. Hera," Fjord greeted, giving her a cordial nod of his head. "Evening. Good to see a familiar face around here."

Well, Kaidan was also here, but seemed... occupied? He couldn't be sure. Hera, at least, seemed to be a little less distracted.

So Kaidan had sent out a text asking him to be here and greet the new guy without staring.

So here was Miguel, not staring, holding out his hand. "Hi. You must be the new guy."

"That's me," came a faintly bemused agreement as a clawed green hand reached out for the one that had been offered. "Fjord. Apparently teaching friendship at the school."

Yeah. He was baffled by this.

"Oh, good!" said Amaya, when she spotted her new green teaching buddy. "Someone told you about movie class! Gotta admit, now I feel kind of bad about not thinking of it myself, but that's one thing about this place. If one person doesn't clue you in, hopefully there's someone else there who does."

"Yeah," Fjord replied, giving a little chuckle. "That would be Kaidan. Ran into him on the beach yesterday and he brought it up. Said this sort of thing brought a lot of good people, and that sounded like an opportunity not to be missed."

Ah, right, one of the new teachers. Given the sea of mostly-human faces at the picnic, Fjord had been rather easy to spot. And then there had been Kaidan’s text, so.

“Hey,” he greeted. “One of the new teachers, right?” He knew full well the answer to that question, of course, but he was being polite here.

Snacks, drinks, and other people were three things that Amaya really enjoyed! Although, really, enjoying that last one was a bit new, and a good deal of it was partly thanks to this class, so she was more than a little pleased to be back and see what other mushy movies Peter would come up with that she could complain about.

Fjord had no idea was was happening on the screen.

It was entirely possible he was too busy being distracted by the screen.

...at one point in the movie, Amaya may have pulled a small notebook out of her pocket and was doing more jotting of notes that she was watching the movie. What was going on on the screen was way beyond anything she could probably ever do, but, zounds, if it wasn't inspiring!

Also, she might be more keen on princesses if more princesses were like this one in the film.

Kaidan saw Amaya pull out the notebook. He leaned over to her and murmured, "If you ever make any of the cool blue stuff, I want in."
