Groovy Tunes, Sunday
All told, Jonothon was actually feeling pretty good today. The past week had seen some improvement while he'd picked up the pieces, and when he came in to work today, he was actually feeling more or less like himself. Minus... some of what had been himself for a while, granted.
Even so, he was settling in at the counter with one of the guitars, and was playing his way through as much Pearl Jam as time would allow. Because it had been far too bloody long, alright?

Then he hesitated. There was no way this was not going to be weird.
Sighing, he went in.

He glanced up at Miguel, and then gave him a polite nod in greeting.

//Better than I've been, thanks,// he said, shrugging his shoulders. //Whole... fish mess was a bit of a dog's dinner, but that's done with now.//

That... really weird weekend. Which really wasn't any more weird than any other, Jono supposed, except that he had followed a doctor back to his secret lair and there had been tissue samples.
//Don't suppose you've been here long enough or done something stupid enough to get the, 'it really wasn't you, mate, don't beat yourself up about it,' talk yet, then?//

You know, blood and pieces.
"I wasn't really sure what to do with them."
no subject
//Er.// And then he blinked again. //How do you normally dispose of medical waste?//
Because that would be his suggestion.

He rubbed the back of his neck. "I'll still do whichever of those you prefer, but - I'm a geneticist. I'm not mad, but I am curious. About you, about what this island does to people. I'd like to run some tests on what I've got, if that's okay with you. I'd let you know anything I found out."
no subject
Yeah, he was going to have to be far more specific than that. Jono was crossing his arms over his chest, looking skeptical.

He hesitated. "Some of those would be easier with non-messed-with samples, too, if you feel like giving any more blood, but I can do plenty just with what I've got. Or I can throw it all out; I get it, believe me. I'd still be curious, but I'd live."

He understood curiosity.
//Mate, I've got a bit of a history with doctors myself. You're going to have to do a good job selling this one.//

He grimaced. "Look, the last time I tried for a practical application, I ended up with talons and spinnerets. Like I said, I get it. If you're not comfortable, I'll get it destroyed. Or give it back to you so you can."
no subject
//Point made,// he said, finally. //I want to know whatever you find out. When you're finished finding out whatever it is you're looking for, then you destroy it.//
no subject
"Absolutely," he told Jono. "Thank you." He paused. "Is there anything you'd like me to research?"

Miguel stuck out his hand. "I appreciate this, you know. And I'm still sorry about that weekend."
no subject
No. Really.
