The Perk, Monday Afternoon
Booored. Bored bored bored.
Bored.
Vette was, possibly surprisingly, bored. Out of her skull. She'd gone to her class today, sat through the weird flat holo, been given some food for thought, considered wandering back to her room. Hadn't. And now she was bored. So she'd gone for a walk. Sure, the weather was... not good today. She had twin rivers of water running down her lekku by the time she'd ducked herself away into a nearby shop, and not five minutes later she was sitting down by the window with a hot drink in her hands, watching the rain come down. The weather was still better than Ryloth, she would even grudgingly admit that the town was leaps and bounds better than Nar Shaddaa, and she was slowly warming up to the rain all the same.
All that considered, she still sighed as she settled in to people-watch. The drink name was totally misleading. Pumpkin spice wasn't spicy at all.

So, here she was. Ducking in the door, nodding to Vette, and heading to get a coffee.

Sigh, pumpkin spice. Everything about you was a lie.

"Confused? Not really. What did you find confusing about it?"
A documentary about a girl standing up to fight for people like herself who had been held back in life was kind of right up Vette's alley, really.

Lana had a lot to learn about Earth politics, apparently.

"It's hard to kill an ideology," she said, simply. "You can kill off or enslave a group of people, but people like those... they're built on ideas. All it takes is one person remembering, agreeing, and it starts all over."
She sipped her drink.
"And that first question?" She frowned at Lana. "The answer to that one is obvious, isn't it? The less a person has at their disposal, the easier they are to control."

She looked at Vette. "I'm smart enough to know I probably have very different views from a twi'lek about slavery. Perhaps we should leave it at 'the Taliban are idiots'?"

Still, she knew better than to argue with a Sith, especially not on that particular topic. She couldn't be rational about that one.
Wouldn't be rational about it. Rationality had nothing to do with the matter, and she owed a cool head to exactly nobody.
"Let's leave it at that, yeah," she settled on.

When in doubt, go with the weather.

"Yyyyyup," Vette agreed, looking out the window at the rain. "That it definitely is."
She was still pretty much soaked through, herself.

None of the above statements were true.

Hey, hutts they could agree on.
