Caritas, Friday Evening
Fjord supposed he probably should have held his office hours today. Probably. But since he was starting his new job at the bar tonight, he figured parents would cope with either meeting the 'influencing people' half of their kids' education here, or waiting until he actually went into the office on the weekend, instead.
Truth be told, here would work just fine for him. Discussing students over drinks at a bar was at least a little more informal than a one-on-one in an office he hadn't yet broken in. And between the half-orc behind the bar getting himself acquainted with the stock and the modern tools of the trade (whatever happened to just bottles and kegs? What was this thing with all the nozzles and hoses on it?), and the zombie band on the stage testing to see if this bartender had a taste for country music, folks would probably have plenty of reasons to want to drink, anyway.
"So, Tino... you been working here long?"
Tino opened his mouth to answer.
And that was when Zombie Yoko stumbled off the stage and Fjord had to go spend the next twenty minutes untangling and reattaching limbs. Sorry, Tino.
[OOC: Open! I swear I'm done spamming the flist now.]

Re: Bar
"Have you seen this man?" it asked, holding up a pretty nice drawing of Magnus. Like, honestly, that was some good work.
Re: Bar
You know, for all Fjord was a little creeped out by the... you know... lich in the bar, there was something about the nametag issue that kind of spoke to him. Nametags weren't made for people who had visible bones or claws, were they?
"That man?" Fjord observed the picture for a moment, jaw lifting a little as he mulled it over. "'Hail and well met?' Yeah, I've seen him around. Who's asking?"
Besides, you know, a lich.
Re: Bar
"I am," it replied with that spooky, raspy reverb effect that Griffin did so well. It also sounded a little confused because it had literally just asked that.
Re: Bar
"... Right." Fjord squinted for a moment. Okay, it was really hard to be intimidated by this particular lich. "Well, then yes. As a matter of fact I have seen him."
He reached for a rag and ran it casually over the bar.
"Good likeness. You draw that?"
Re: Bar
Okay, so Magnus attempted to punch him a few times and then tried to stand in him until he floated upwards to avoid it. Which had been super weird, Maggie.
"No." There was a meaningful pause because this had actually been one of Lucretia's drawings. "Are you going to tell me where I can find him?"
Re: Bar
Fjord just spread his hands a little.
"Well now, you didn't ask that," he pointed out. If Lichy here could answer with an 'I am,' Fjord felt absolutely no shame answering in kind. "Is he expecting you?"

She offered Fjord a smile when she saw him behind the bar. "I didn't know you worked here."
Re: Bar
"Tonight's my first night," Fjord replied, offering Seivarden a smile and a nod in greeting. "I picked the job up last weekend, was going a little out of my head with nothing to do around here, and I can't just sit in the onsen all of the time."
Re: Bar
Even if he had been a pretty sight.
"I usually go here on Tuesdays, but I didn't have much else to do, so..."
The hotel room didn't show Radchaai entertainments.
Re: Bar
He smiled crookedly.
"Hopefully Fridays don't disappoint. I know Kitty sets a--" he stopped himself from saying 'high bar,' because honestly now, "-- an impressive standard."
Re: Bar
And now Fjord behind the bar was a nice surprise.
"So, do you have any specials today? I hope it's not the pumpkin spice vodka shots."
Re: Bar
A pause.
"Pumpkin spice?"
He had yet to encounter that one.
"I mean, I, ah, I haven't settled in enough to come up with a good one. Any drinks I mix while I'm learning my way around behind the bar are half price?"
Did he get to decide these things? His entire interview had basically consisted of, 'what day do you want to work?'
Re: Bar
Staying at the hotel meant she had less money for drinks, and they couldn't be worse than the pumpkin spice vodka shots.

He'd lost track of Tsurumaru. That probably wasn't going to end well.
