Kanan's Warehouse, Friday Afternoon

It was Friday, where else would Kanan be but here in his warehouse again, giving a speculative look around at the decorations that were still strewn about in the wake of Christmas.

... Well, the holiday had come and gone, and while he had come in here in order to do some training, he figured it probably wouldn't hurt if he took some time to at least unwrap the crates and pull down some of the garland.

Not to mention the glitter drifts that were still spread out across the floor.

The lights and the painting of his dog in the Christmas hat, though? That could stay. Kanan had no problems with better illumination in here, or of Stance's big dumb face staring down at him while he trained.

The good thing about Fandom was that thanks to last week's call, she knew the fighting stuff would be over for this week's. So, ring ring.

Kanan did look forward to these calls, okay? And he was still in a pretty good mood this week, in spite of the oncoming influx of new students tomorrow. He hadn't woken up with a sense of dread or anything, and having a few days of just cleaving snowmen in two had been good for him, clearly.

"What's the word today?"

"I've never actually been asked that question before," Rey admitted, smiling. "No fighting this week?"

"No fighting this week," Kanan confirmed. "The snowmen were run off with a combination of a freeze ray, a giant motor attached to an iceberg, and... smooth dance moves."

Because Fandom.

"It almost doesn't feel strange saying things like that anymore."

"Tell me you danced," Rey said immediately.

"I did not dance," Kanan countered with a laugh. "The students had that one handled, I think. I'm not much of a dancer."

... Said the Jedi with a supernatural sense of balance. Kanan really just wasn't trying hard enough, clearly.

"I bet you're fine," she told him. "Though I'm not sure what kinds of dances beat monsters."

Obviously NOT the Monster Mash, weirdly enough.

Nobody had tried doing the Jingle Bell Swing, either!

"Well, I can ask around and find out for you," Kanan offered. "I wasn't there at the time. But I'm sure it was a hell of a show."

"Meanwhile you're taking phone calls while fighting..."

Really, Kanan.

"It's called multitasking," Kanan replied easily. "It was fine."

Oh, Kanan.

"I seem to remember you saying you couldn't hold the phone...." Rey said.

[uncertain_dume]

"It was balanced pretty impressively between my shoulder and my ear," Kanan intoned. "Only almost fumbled it through that call the once."

It had been awkward as hell and it was a miracle he hadn't lost it in a snow bank.

"And you were showing off," she guessed.

Kaidan showed up and leaned back against the doorjam, arms crossing over his chest as he watched Kanan unwrap the crates.

"Well, look at you, getting into the swing of Christmas spirit!"

"I'm pretty sure un-decorating is the opposite of that," Kanan replied, rolling his eyes and smirking a little as he yanked more paper free. "Oh look, the creepy red suit man got me another crate. Just what I always wanted."

"Unwrapping presents is totally part of that," Kaidan grinned at him. "And you do use the crates when you're playing 'the floor is lava'."

"The floor is never lava, Kaidan."

Just watch. One of these days, the floor would absolutely be lava.

"Wouldn't matter if it were, the way you go jumping around the crates some days," Kaidan smirked at him. Look, you act like a jumping bean, you get teased for being a jumping bean.

[uncertain_dume]

"Training," Kanan reminded him, easily. "That's just training."

Like a jumping bean.

"Pretty sure that's a gravity allergy," Kaidan teased him.

[uncertain_dume]

"Gravity's overrated anyway."

For, you know, him in particular.

"So you seem to think," Kaidan agreed with a small smirk. "You have to admit that shredding the paper off of those is fun, though."

Because it was, you Grinch.

"It's very satisfying," Kanan replied, turning a smirk toward Kaidan, "ripping the Christmas away."

Such a Grinch.

"What did Christmas ever do to you?" Kaidan laughed at him.

So Grinch.

"What, did Santa forget you'd been a good little boy this year?" Decade older than you at least. Take that, young'n.

"Apparently Santa figured I needed new gloves," Kanan replied, raising an eyebrow. "And a club."

He had absolutely affixed it to his steering equipment on the Escape. Why not?
