Caritas- Tuesday
Kitty didn't know what was going on, but today, there were breadsticks. Tino denied all knowledge, and she actually believed it.
There were baskets of them on the bar. Go ahead and eat them. There were more. One might say there was an unlimited amount.

"God dammit," said Rosa, huffing a sigh as she pulled out her phone to take a picture of one of the baskets on the bar, then plopped down into a stool, glowering as she, true to her word, sent the picture to Ralph, with a text something along the lines of You son of a bitch, if you're right about this, I am going to kick you in the teeth.
She didn't even know if he had teeth. She'd never seen him without his helmet on, and she preferred to keep it that way. But a kick in the teeth sounded about right just then.
"I'm going to need a beer, Kitty," she said, once that was finished and her phone tucked away, "probably a few of them. And I'm going to need you to report any pasta-related incidents that occur in this bar that might be somewhat related to a vaguely Tuscan-themed family restaurant."
Why were these words that were coming out of her mouth right now? The only thing worse than not having a job to do around here was...actually having a job to do around here.

"Wait, what?"

"After the spaghetti on Friday and the garlic on Sunday," she explained, "the troopers are worried your bar might be turning into an Olive Garden. They asked me to investigate, and, like an idiot, I said I would...at the first sign of a breadstick."
The disturbed crease of her brow went a little worried as she regarded the baskets. "So now I almost feel like the breadsticks are my fault," she noted, then looked back at Kitty almost apologetically. "Sorry about that."

unless people run with it, but would it really need an investigation if it did?"no subject
...she was honestly kind of bored, herself.
"So just..." She shrugged helplessly again, "...let me know, I guess, so I can put it in the file and shut them up."

God, she'd been here way too long.

"Well, now I know my plans for the weekend."

"Exactly," she agreed. "They're the ones so concerned about it. And they're the dum-dums who decided to put me in charge of the case. A pasta-related problem requires pasta-related solutions, it's just basic common sense."

And could he help himself? Those smelled pretty good.

Even if the place did still smell faintly like garlic.

Quitting alcohol had been worse by far, but he still reserved the right to complain.

She'd liked it before, now it was necessary for survival.

He was good enough at keeping himself up all hours without the help of a baby.

This was probably a mistake.

"Fair enough," he replied. "Tell you what; you know how to get in touch with me. Even if you just want someone to keep an eye out while you nap, tap me in. You don't even have to go anywhere."

They could both panic a little less on 'Kitty and Clint need time out of the house' night, whenever that came to pass!

It shouldn't be.

From bunking with the other younglings to war to various flophouses around the galaxy? Kanan had never really had a chance to get weird about co-habitating with people, so long as they weren't people who wanted him dead.

"And it would kind of defeat the purpose if he was awake being uncomfortable about me being in the other room anyway," Kanan noted. "But yeah, if that's something that isn't weird, the offer stands."

"I slept for a full cycle and... mostly I felt a little more like I was able to face the fact that my life wasn't fixed," Kanan admitted after a pause. "That one wasn't a great couple of weeks of sleeplessness."

Kanan smiled apologetically.
"It's a little less dire for you," he offered. "I was on the run at the time."
Still was. Had gotten far better at sleeping anyway.

"Not really," Kanan agreed. "Unfortunately, it's also a time when you really can't afford to sleep."

No one ever did.
