Caritas, Friday Evening
Fjord showed up to work at Caritas about ten minutes late, looking faintly at a loss. Tino's glower was met with a shrug, a sincere apology, and Fjord admitting that he'd thought it was Thursday today.
... Wednesday, it seemed, had just... not happened for him. He couldn't say how, or why, just that he'd gone to sleep on Tuesday night and had woken up on Thursday morning, perplexed as hell about where his Wednesday had gone. His sense of time had been screwed up since.
Either way, he was here now, and setting to work putting the band together again to try to make amends for being late in the first place.

Which wasn't surprising, considering that the rest of the population were.
Seivarden leaned against the bar, smiling a little.

"It'd be a interesting trick, tending the bar if I wasn't," Fjord pointed out, smiling faintly. "Evening, Seivarden. What can I get for you tonight?"

But, hey, at least the hand offering it out to her was wearing gloves, right?

"Thank you," she said. "Have you been baking yourself?"

And there was a large pastry tucked under Amaya's arm, carrying it like she would a sheet of metal or a plank of wood, which she then set on the bar. A few bits were broken off on one end, but, even with Amaya's voracious appetite, she'd only been able to make it through those porportionally small bits.
"Evening, Fjord," she greeted. "It's no meat on a stick, but I don't suppose you'd care for some walnut strudle, now, would you?"
An offer that would easily extend to anyone in the bar, too, really. There was more than enough to go around.

"Well, hey there, Amaya," Fjord greeted, giving a nod and a smile. "You know, I don't normally have much of a sweet tooth, but with a strudel that size, I think I might have to make an exception."
Also, it looked great. Also also, he probably needed the sugar. This week was so damn weird.

It was a well-known fact that Daventry squirrels lived Wente's strudels. She had no reason to believe Fandom squirrels would be any different.
"How's things?" she asked, the quirk of her brow being the only suggestion that she might actually be asking about specific things rather than general things.

That list was honestly just as long as the five letters it took to put Fjord’s name on it, as things currently stood.
“Hey, Fjord,” she greeted him, sliding onto a bar stool and casually flipping Tino off just for the hell of it. “I stopped by the
fjorgeforge the other day and you weren’t there.”It was like she was concerned or something. If you squinted.
. . . no, she’d totally been concerned.

So she sidled up next to Beau and was just... casually trying to carry herself in a similar way. Quietly. Not trying to make a scene.

As it was she cast a sidelong, dubious glance at the kid beside her and gave a little chin nod. "'sup."

Awww, Beau. A guy could almost get the impression that you cared. Not that Fjord was going to point that out. He was going to offer her a smile, though, holding up his hands in a sort of almost-surrender gesture.
"I apologize for missing you," he replied. "I apparently lost a day somewhere in there. No fucking clue where it went. Knowing this place, it'll show up somewhere halfway through the weekend."
It made sense for here, anyway.

She'd been wondering if he managed to get home without her or if something had happened to him but that didn't mean she cared, okay?
"And then throw you off all of next week when you don't actually have any idea what day it really is," she guessed. "Man, I hate that."

forgeboss," Beau said, nodding in her direction. "Randomly giving out food. I mean sure, I'll take some, I'm not turning down free food."That was when she got a glimpse of the pastry of origin.
"They fuckin' make them that big?"
Somewhere back home, Jester was probably deeply envious.

"...look this doesn't mean I came just to see you," she said, ruining her front pretty much immediately.

Fjord didn't even hesitate before reaching for a dish and filling it with beer nuts.
"Of course not," he replied agreeably, setting it down in front of her. "That would be absurd."
no subject
A pause.
"...have you been well?"
See. Not caring.

Was Amaya feeling a little glad to see a few more faces around the bar on the Friday when she just happened to be sent a bunch of honestly ridiculously large pastries from an old...she couldn't even really call him a friend, though the perspective was probably different from his point of view? Absolutely. Especially if the those other faces would be willing to be stuffed with random sweets. The type of which was being offered to Kagura at just that moment, before she considered also hitting up the zombie band, but she doubted they'd be taking her up on the offer.
