"Okay," Kitty said when she walked in and saw the mess. "Use plastic glasses when you're practicing bar tricks."

The first part of Kitty's shift was definitely spent cleaning glass. And anything served by Tino was going to be in a plastic cup because he could not be trusted.

"I'm fine tonight," Kitty assured her. "You sit. Have a drink. Tell me how you are."

"Ready for this damn holiday to be over," Éponine said, rolling her eyes. "Especially as the post office seems keen on trying to drown me in it this year. It's fine and all, you know, but in moderation. I s'pose they haven't been having it much better at some of the other shops in town, but that's just how it goes, isn't it? It's all a bit silly, and that's a shame."

"I feel like on February 15 you and the flower shop should get together and have a party," Kitty said.

"It's not a bad idea," Éponine said thoughtfully. "Then again they may want to have as quiet and calm a day as possible. I'm sure I will."

"Maybe February 16," Kitty smiled.

Éponine laughed. "You're making me consider this idea in earnest, you know. Or I could just celebrate by enjoying a day of doing nothing."

"Both options would be earned," Kitty smiled. "I actually didn't realize people still went nuts over Valentine's Day."

She and acting were pretty low key.

"The post office thinks so, at least," Éponine said, sounding resigned and a bit Over It. No, completely Over It. "Oh well, it isn't hurting anyone, I suppose. Have you and Clint got plans for it, or not? I'd think you've more important things to attend to anyhow."

"We're staying in, hanging out at home," Kitty said. "We've never really done much for it. Dinner sometimes. But I know if we try to go out I'll spend the whole time freaking out about how Lexi's doing at every moment and I don't want that stress."

She knew this, because she'd already done it.

"There's really no getting around that, is there? Seems to me staying home and enjoying the night with family's the best way to spend it."

She managed to keep that touch of envy out of her voice, at least.

"Though if you change your minds, just let me know. I'd be happy to look after her for a bit for you."

"Thanks," Kitty smiled. "Maybe after the trip, when we realize traveling with a baby was a mistake and need a break."
