Outside the Portalocity Office, Sunday morning

All aboard for Iceland!

Trip participants were told to gather in front of the Portalocity office with their reasonable amounts of luggage in preparation of a week-long trip through Iceland in a series of mini-buses with limited storage space. So if it didn't fit underneath, you will absolutely be holding it. All week. Are the cute outfits really worth it? Are you suuuuuure?

But there would be wifi throughout the trip. No one needed that level of whining.

It was currently a balmy 36 F (2 C) in Reykjavík, so hopefully everyone had gloves and hats and coats, but if not, they would get to Iceland in plenty of time for some quick emergency shopping!

[OOC: First Iceland post is here!]

There had been a lot of cursing when Kitty got word about the limited storage space thing, because this was the first time they were traveling with a baby, and did they know how much stuff a tiny baby needed? She'd had to take apart all the packing and then consider what was necessary and then repack, and then realize that oh no, they'd definitely need that thing she'd unpacked so let's start all over.

Anyway, hi. Kitty was here wearing a kid who needed too much stuff and she was maybe second guessing this.

Astrid was quite possibly traveling with more on this trip than she had when she'd first come here from California, and, even then, half of her suitcase was actual clothing and things like that; the other half were sketchbooks, which she figured she'd be needing a lot of. If she was going to Iceland without her mother, then she planned to make sure to chronicle everything to help make it seem like Ingrid could have been there herself, too.

It also made her small, tattered suitcase much heavier than it looked, so that was fun, lugging it down here, but she was determined not to let it look like it was burdensome, but she gave herself plenty of time to make it down there, just in case it slowed her down. She couldn't live with herself if she wound up missing this.

It hadn't taken that long, though, and that was fine, too. That just meant she could get started on the visual chronicle, getting started on sketching everyone as they arrived.

The school trip was, of course, always an occasion for excitement with the promise of adventure, but Sidon had to admit, he was perhaps, just a little bit, apprehensive about spending a week in a place called Iceland. Sure, his research had provided enough relief to see that it wasn't quite as bad as the name might suggest, but for a Zora who was not at all a fan of winter and the cold, it was still a bit daunting.

A shame they couldn't all be like Greece, really. Though he doubted anything would ever really be as wondrous as that trip had been...

...either way, he was there, ready to go, and a bit early, keeping an eye out for anyone who might need some assistance with their luggage.

Prompto was coming from the other way to head to the portalocity office; he had to swing by the shelter to drop Girl off first, after all, since the vet said she'd watch her while he was gone. He'd almost considered bringing her with him; Rufus had brought Dark Nation with him during that last one, after all, buuuuut, with all the traveling around it sounded like they'd be doing, that didn't seem a whole lot of fun for a dog, so he thought maybe it was better if she stuck around here, as much of a bummer as it was.

But, hey, maybe she'll make friends with Summer's cat in the meantime, since it looked like Pancakes was going to be chilling over there for the break, too.

Either way, he was there, he had his stuff (and even remembered to leave space in his suitcase since he knew he'd be coming back with more than he'd left with), and did a quick inventory of his film and memory cards before already getting in a few shots. Practice shots! Shots for the beginning of the trip! Because of course he'd be shooting everything he could.

Jack rocked up with a suspiciously small backpack for a week's worth of travel. She figured the place wasn't so barbaric that it didn't have a goddamn laundry somewhere.

Leaning against a wall, she cleaned her fingernails with a very tiny knife and waited for Kaidan.

"Why'm I going on this trip again?" Kaidan asked when he walked up. His bag was a little larger because he actually wore shirts. "Right. Because I'm a sucker and you gave me big doe-eyes and used the word 'backup'."

It wasn't much of a bitch. He really didn't want her going anywhere without backup.

"Because everyone else I asked after you turned me the fuck down," Jack answered merrily, "and you are cursed, cursed I say, with responsibility and ethics and all the fucking boring-ass shit like that what won't let you let me go alone."

Take that, honestly responsible adult.
