It was the first day back from the trip, and Kitty just sort of didn't wanna today. Sure, she'd happily serve everyone, but until they came in she'd be playing games on her phone.

Don't look at her like that, Tino, we all have our days.

At least the Tuesday regular was pretty low maintenance?

"It's only been a few days back and I already hate it."

A complaint that had 100% to do with stupid clones in dumb white plastic armor and nothing else, but that made it even more worthy of needing a beer, if you asked Rosa.

"Uh oh, what happened?" Kitty asked, immediately putting the phone down.

Even if she didn't want to do anything, she'd been kinda bored.

"You ever have a week's worth of rodent-related crime explained to you via an original musical performance with interpretive choreography and percussive music a la Stomp in two separate parts before?" Rosa asked.

But figuring (hoping) she knew what the answer to that would be, she said, through a tight jaw, "I have. And it sucks."

Kutty dudbt say abtthjng fir a moment.

Then, "I'd there video of this?"

"Obviously," said Rosa, who was already sliding her phone across the bar with the video all ready to go. "Cameras all over the station, too, if you want different angles."

Those would include the priceless inclusion of Rosa's expression during the whole thing, too.

"You're the best," Kitty said, and fell quiet to watch.

"...They must've been really bored."

"One of them said he missed me."

Rosa's expression suggested it was a miracle that that one even still had limbs right now.

"Awww," Kitty grinned, handing the phone back. "Are they upset they didn't get souvenirs? Or is your presence enough?"

Rosa took the phone back with a glare that she totally meant, except not really. "I don't think I even want to answer that," she said. "But I guess it's better they spent the week having nothing to do but practice dance numbers instead of me having missed out on something actually good and fun."

"So you had a good time on the trip?"

"I did," Rosa admitted, with maybe not even too much reluctance, either, since it was Kitty and the question was fairly innocuous. "It was...nice. And actually relaxing. Which is something I don't think you're going to relate to as much."

A baby, Kitty. You brought a baby on a bus tour of Iceland.

Rosa still wasn't sure if she should give you mad props or a straight jacket.

"I got some relaxing in," Kitty assured her. "Steve and Tony took Lexi one night, and one I was used to waking up at two am and walking in a fog all day, it was easy."

It wasn't the bus that was a problem at this age. It was the time zones.

"Just as long as you got some in," Rosa said, "and that you guys had a good time, but, I mean, is she even going to remember any of it at this age?"

"Nope. We do have a bunch of pictures of her sleeping in front of waterfalls, though," Kitty smiled. "No regrets. Aside from notchecking on what to do about her sleep schedule before we went."

And Rosa just shook her head in what was possibly the most half-assed disappointed face ever, because it was mostly just what her face looked like most of the time. "You're lucky I don't just get CPS on the phone right this instant for that one."

"I know, I know, it's the worst thing I could ever do to her," Kitty said, shaking her head. "Don't know how I live with myself."

"You're a monster, Kitty," Rosa informed her. "Worst I've ever seen. And I've seen a lot of messed up degenerates in my time, but I don't think I'll ever see anything as bad as not checking on what to do about her sleep schedule beforehand."

She shook her head.

"Despicable. It'd make me sick to my stomach if it weren't for the fact that I don't get sick."

"Oh, right. Not any kind of sick?" Kitty asked. "I thought that just went for like, colds."

"Nope," said Rosa. "Any kind of sick. I don't even throw up. I just tell my stomach to deal with it."

And here, there might have been a little bit of preening. "My body is terrified of me."

"Congratulations?" Kitty said, not entirely sure.

"Thanks," said Rosa, confident and proud, because she didn't completely badger her natural physionomical reactions into submission over the years just for uncertain congratulations, Kitty. "It's incredibly useful. And I almost always win drinking contests."

The 'almost' wouldn't usually make it in there, but...well...Fandom. Those felt like they could be famous last words around here.

"I'd kind of like to see that," Kitty said thoughtfully, as someone who would absolutely never win such a thing.

"Of course you would," Rosa pointed out. "Drinking contest like that's bound to be good business."

She...would know, having had a bit of an issue with that in the recent past that had significantly diminished lately. Her bar tabs had shrunken significantly lately, and she was not complaining at all.

"Also it'd be entertaining." As an observer.

"Especially if you just make Tino take care of clean-up," Rosa noted. "And then that'd be extra entertainment for everyone."

"I'm failing to see a downside."

Again, she would not pay for it afterwards.

Rosa took a few moments to think about it, and wound up shaking her head.

"Yeah, me, neither."

But you should, Rosa. You really, really should.

"Guess you got an event for when it gets a little too quiet around here."

Encouraging drinking until you puke. Or until the point where normal people would puke, but you don't, because you're either a superhuman or Rosa Diaz.

"We are probably due for something," Kitty said thoughtfully. "It's been a while since New Year's."
