Once again, Kitty wasn't sure anyone actually was going to show up at the bar, but she needed to make sure nothing terrible had happened. It had definitely looked better, but in a bar the rusted-out industrial look sort of worked?

She was a little more put off by the post-apocalyptic sodas, just on principle.

"See, this week getting into the bar was an adventure," Kanan said, by way of greeting, as he wandered inside. "And I didn't even have to climb in a window."

It wasn't too late for you to go back outside and try, Kanan.

"On the other hand, radiation," Kitty pointed out. "Not that I'm not glad to see you."

"On the other hand, radiation," Kanan agreed. "Home's got that, too, so I figure I might as well work my way to glowing in the dark in the usual stomping grounds, at the very least."

"On the plus side, you'll save a lot of money on lighting in the long run," Kitty said. "So I'm not sure how possible your usual is today."

"That's fine," Kanan replied, shrugging. "I'm not actually all that picky, just so long as I'm not going to regret it in the morning. Work with what you've got?"

"Soda with the word 'nuke' in it," she said.

Kanan frowned a little in thought at that.

"Can't be all that much worse than living across the street from a gigantic, not-yet-detonated warhead," he noted.

"Which as a new patent makes me feel really very comfortable," she said, and added, "I'm sure it's fine."

As long as people didn't kick the bomb.

Kanan... really, really hoped nobody kicked the bomb.

"I bet it's a perfectly safe giant warhead," he agreed, smiling wryly. "At the very least, it looks like it's been there for ages already without detonating?"

"That's what I'm clinging to. You hear about those stories often enough and they turn out okay..."

She was tempted to phase it underground and hope for the best.

"I'd try to lift it to somewhere outside of town, but... that might be overestimating my own ability to move a giant bomb without killing us all," Kanan noted.

But it was tempting.

"I'd phase it elsewhere but I can't imagine that would end well when everything's already rotted out, you know?" Fandom would probably find some way to make it worse.

"Knowing our luck, just the slightest twitch would give some piece of rusty metal inside just enough of a jostle that it finally gives way," Kanan sighed. "And that'd be that."

"You know," said Rosa, by way of introduction, coming and scoping out the changes in the bar before settling into her usual spot, "I think I can live with this one."

Yeah. She would.

"I'm not a big fan of post-apocalyptic," Kitty admitted, for reasons. "I was fine with the dinosaurs."

"The dinosaurs were okay," Rosa allowed. "This one has that whole 'I could get on my bike and ride until the tank's empty and still not encounter a single solitary soul' vibe that I can really be down with."

And the only reason she hadn't packed up Arlo 2 and done just that like in some of her favorite movies was because she enjoyed sniping bloatflies from her balcony way too much.

"That does sound very you," Kitty admitted. "What do you do when the tank's empty?"

Rosa shrugged. "I dunno," she admitted. "I didn't think that far yet, but probably set up camp, stick around for a bit, enjoy it. Maybe head back if I start getting bored."

"I always did wonder what happened when people rode off into the sunset," Kitty said. "Probably exactly that."

"Maybe I'll train Arlo 2 to be a messenger dog," Rosa offered, although that was clearly ridiculous because you couldn't train Arlo 2 to do anything. "I'll send you letters about how life in the sunset is. They'll be riveting, too, I'm sure."

"By then I'd probably be so irradiated I might not remember what a sunset looked like, so I'd appreciate that," she said. "Sometimes I hate the conversations this town makes me have."

"I just hope I get irradiated enough to finally have super powers like the rest of you guys," said Rosa.

With an important pause.

"Not that I need them, obviously. But it would be kind of cool to be able to open cans with my eye lasers or something."

Yes, she knew it didn't work like that.

No, she didn't care.

"Depending on the radiation, you might just end up huge, green and pissy," Kitty pointed out.

Rosa considered these three things.

"So that's two new powers," she noted. "I'll take it."

"I feel like you could actually rock it," she said honestly.
