The Onsen, Monday
It was a beautiful day outside!
Nina's explorations hadn't yielded anything strange or bitey or dangerous that wasn't usually strange or bitey or dangerous around the island, when it wasn't messing around with their locations, and she'd sent out an email, on Friday, after all that meant now that it was definitely looking really great for the week?
ONSEN PARTY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What was that? Island-wide texts were obnoxious?
Well, like, whatever, the water was great! The sky was back! There was no possible way a party like this could go wrong, right?
… Right?
Well, it wouldn't go wrong today, anyway!
[Please to be waiting for the OCD is up, up, and away! And yes, yes that text hit up everyone.]

Arrive & Mingle
Re: Arrive & Mingle
How could Sidon ever forget about the completely irrational, nonsensical, completely arbitrary (in his esteemed opinion, anyway) requirement for bathing suits in the onsen, which also did not even allow you to swim much, or, at the very least, they gave you very firm glares if you so much as flicked your heattail and splashed a bit?
But far be it from him to not enjoy the occassion for a party held by his dear little sister in light on the island going back to something a little more everyone's speed, especially when said party specifically involved water. So Sidon was there, looking a bit ridiculous in the pair of swim trunks he'd gotten specifically for occassions such as these, but determined not to let himself feel as ridiculous as he figured he very much likely appeared.
Swim trunks indeed!
(They were very nice, though, and the red and white blocking could almost match his natural coloring enough that, at first glance, perhaps one might not even notice...)

Her bathing suit was an eminently tasteful and cute pink one-piece. Nina had taken a couple of looks at the bikinis and... and... no, definitely not, she was a lady and in her world, ladies didn't flash that much skin, like, ever............ and she still felt rather embarrassed at the idea that others might, like, wear them.......
Re: Arrive & Mingle
Wayne wasn't sure if he'd really stay for long, but he had been invited and it was impolite to turn down an invite, especially if you didn't have a good excuse, but he figured if it got too awkward sitting around with everyone in their swimwear in hot, non-bubbly water, well, then, he could likely always slip out with a good old Letterkenny Leave.
His swim trunks, it should be noted, were not, in fact, plaid or flannel.
Re: Arrive & Mingle
And, on a whim, he'd actually charged the phone Summer had given him way back when, which meant he had gotten the invitation to the party and, the nice thing about small town living was that, when someone threw a party and invited everyone…
Well, the polite thing to do was to show up, wasn't it?
Carter's swim trunks were plain black.
Re: Arrive & Mingle
"Hello," he called as he walked in... about five minutes late. Fashionable, right? "Let the onsen begin!"

Re: Onsen Party!
Warm, blissful water that wasn't over their heads or leaking out of the one thing that separated them from it.
Fresh air, blue sky, no feeling of being locked in and trapped. Prompto didn't even need the water to relax him in that moment, but it was a nice touch, and he breathed in a deep, appreciative sigh as he closed his eyes and settled in against one of the walls, putting his arms up on the edge (those, after all, he was unabashedly proud of and sort of needed to take the chance to show off, even if he did twitch his hands at the wrists on occassion because he'd decided, after a long debate, to eschew his gloves because that would be ridiculous, but he still had a terrycloth wristband over his tattoos. He doubted anyone who didn't already know about them would even notice, but he just felt significantly more comfortable with them there).
This was nice, though. He could almost forget to even be anxious like this, and was so, so grateful for what was shaping up to be an actual normal, nice week after that last one.

But as he bobbled towards Promtoes, hoping to land on his head, or shoulder, or those arms that were so conveniently not in the water…
Well, it was pretty clear that if Silly could be understood, he'd be rambling about how excited he was to see Promtoes!

And, like, the water was so nice and warm and oh, maybe she'd just never leave it, that sounded great! Besides, like, what was the point of a bathing suit, really, if she wasn't going to be in the water while wearing it?
Nina relaxed against one of the walls, blissfully happy.
Re: Onsen Party!
And now to just fight the urge to not just start swimming about!
...or to just fall asleep. It was quite a bit warmer than the sleeping pools back home, but it did rather bring those to mind, which was a terribly comforting and relaxing and soporiphic thought...
Re: Onsen Party!
And as he sat there, he was taking note of how everyone else was sitting, because, usually, at these things, you had all sorts, and he was checking to see if they were all accounted for:
There was the guy who sat with his chin in the water, which he supposed he should have expected from the big fish fella, though he was wondering just how he made all that room when it wasn't all that deep.
A guy sitting there with his shoulders ouwt was usually a given, but the one with the arms definitely fit the bill for the guy who took up two to three times more real estate than everybody else because he's just, like....puttin' the vibe out there.
Someone, he was sure of it, was going to hop out in a second to be the Edge-Sitter, too. Always had to have an Edge-Sitter.
And he? Well, he was the guy who sits there with the hands out of the water so he could keep 'em dry so he could still dig out and light smokes.
Which meant he was wondering if they'd allow smokes in here.

And taking over the partyLook. Summer would admit, she felt a little uncertain about this whole Onsen-Party-Hosted-By-A-Student thing, especially since, you know, the onsen was where she oh-so-low-key went to just ogle pretty people. But she had noticed the email was sent to pretty much everyone and she had a really hard time saying no to a party she was invited to, even if it danced her back toward that weird line she was trying to get away from with having been a student herself. And it did seem like a good way to relax after a few really weird weeks
and the mun couldn't refuse a convenient plot hook.Which was why she was an Edge-Sitter, figuring it not only put her in a less awkward spot if it did end up being mostly students, but it also put her in a spot to just bolt if it got weird. And maybe sort of had her come off as sort of a cool teacher chaperone or something? She didn't know. She just really hoped it wasn't some fluke, because it would kind of suck if she wound up being less a cool teacher and more just a weird awkward one that showed up randomly at their non-dorm parties.
If anything, at least she and Sidon went way back and she'd just commandeer him for a while and laugh over the good old days when she'd yell at him for dripping water all over the common room for the parties she used to have. But she really hoped more, you know, not-students showed up, and not just so she could start spreading the word about her party later this week for her birthday. But that was kind of a big reason, ngl.

She piled her hair up into a braided crown around her head and lounged in the water like a queen. Her bikini was flower patterned and not particularly modest but then... why would it be?
Re: Onsen Party!
Ah, this was good. This, right here.
Re: Onsen Party!
Nina wasn't going to, like, bother her or anything. But she'd spend some down time just enjoying the heat of the water and lounging by her, most definitely, content with the silence.

Now, it was true that Sidon's stealth skills on land were...laughable, though he certain was trying to improve. However, his ability to be swift and stealthy in the water was unparalleled, an apex predator in his natural state, slicing through the currents on unsuspecting marine life like a deadly shadow unnoticed until it was far, far too late.
Unfortunately, all of those qualities required a body of water significantly larger than the onsen. But Sidon, the Zora Prince!, was hardly going to let a detail like that prevent him from at least making the attempt.
So please nobody mind the large Zora shimmying (yes, shimmying, staff members giving him the dirty eye right now, he was certainly not swimming, thank you very much!) across the pool toward the Twi'lek with his headfin barely out of the water, just enough to hide his grin, in a way that was oh-so-sneaky and surely not at all likely to be noticed by her at all, no, perish the thought....
