Parties were always a good time!

Especially right on Wednesdays and their super fun games! Nina was, like, a little sad that she had to miss the super fun games in order to set up for the party but then, like, it was a party and people were going to be so happy so it was hard to get too sad about it as she set out the food (all plastic and completely inedible, but pretending was more fun anyway!) and got the hugging booths ready and even, with a great deal of effort, got cute little balloons set up just right to make the boardwalk super festive.

She'd, like, thought of having it in the dorms but then realized she didn't want to exclude anyone and by then it was too late to ask if they could use a building in town and, sure, there was the beach, but…

Had a party ever been done on the boardwalk before? She couldn't remember! And if, like, she couldn't remember, then most people wouldn't either! Which would mean her party would be even more new and exciting and fun and--oh, she really had to give Sabine another hug for giving her this wonderful idea!

It was just so much fun!

"A party!" said Sidon, pumping his little yarn fist as he arrived and beamed brightly at the festivities. "Fantastic!"

A party...held on the boardwalk.

Which was by the water.

Oh, dear.

Ahhhh, what a never-ending challenge, to possess a body of yarn yet the heart of the sea!!

Sidon would have to just make sure to pay extra attention to having fun with his fellow party-goers to distract himself from that terrible urge to just abandon it all and go swimming, like a very, very Bad Toy indeed!

"Siiiiiiiiiidoooooooooooooooon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

And ohmygosh, he was adorable! But no, wait, that wasn't what she was supposed to be thinking at all!

(She was still going to think it, if only because that was better than dwelling on how she was made of plastic and had her clothes painted on her...)

"I'm so glad you came!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

"Nina!" Sidon greeted her back, throwing open his yarn arms and laughing. "Of course! I wouldn't miss it for the world! What an absolutely marvelous idea! I always do love a party, and, as I'm sure you'll expect from me, I am absolutely enamored with the location!"

...so much for not thinking about the sea, but it was right there! Oh, it would be so nice to go for a swim!

But no one liked a soggy shark!

"It does have a marvelous view, doesn't it??!?!??!?!" she agreed and, now that she was herself again, Nina was wondering if later, like, much later, a real party on the boardwalk might not be a bad idea...

"Absolutely breathtaking!" Sidon agreed with enthusiasm, not even faked, or, well, perhaps just a little, because it was a lovely evening, and it was perfect for a party, but his heart couldn't help but ache a little. Not just for the desire to go plunging into the sea even at the risk of all his water-absorbing yarn, but also for the absence of his beloved Vette and how he would love to share these moment with her, but als!

He was trying so hard not to be so morose and forlorn, though, because it was important that they all had fun, no one wanted a lovesick, homesick Zora at their party.

"The night shall pass on with only the most wonderous splendor, my dear Nina! What a marvelous time we shall all have!"

"It truly will be only the most magical of nights!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Honestly, Nina felt a little bad about how easy it was to act around Sidon, but he was so enthusiastic and she couldn't help but rise to it.

"Would you like a hug???????????????" she asked. "To make your night even better, of course!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

This sort of enthusiasm certainly was already Sidon default mode, and, really, if it weren't for that pesky ocean calling to him, he'd have probably gone through this whole week without barely noticing a thing amiss.

"Would I like a hug?" Sidon repeated the question with a bright and charmed sort of laugh. "Why, Nina! How could I ever not want a hug?"

And, with that, he was just going open up his arms wide and then swoop in to sweep her up in said hug with another bright and jovial laugh.

Nina squeaked a bit, in surprise, since Sidon had never actually hugged her before (even when, like, she could have really used a hug) but now he was all into it and she laughed, honestly delighted in this one moment for a hug like this.

"We were taught this week that it's always polite to ask!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" she protested, laughing, and hugging back the best she could.

For someone from a culture where there wasn't a whole lot of hugging, Sidon had gotten mighty good at it, and, currently, he was also so soft as well! In fact, it seemed to manage to have just the right amount of tightness in the squeeze and softness from his stomach to probably be pretty close to a near-perfect hug.

"That is a wonderful lesson!" he said brightly as he set Nina back down and beamed at her. "Politeness is always a good trait to have, be it with hugs or be it with other things!"
