It was a lovely day for an outdoor wedding, with everything done up in white, tables and chairs set up in the respective ceremony and reception areas. The birds were singing, the sun was shining, had that gazebo always been there?

Anakin gave her a hopeful little smirk because if anyone in the crowd looked like someone who would marry a secret prince for a year so he could inherit his kingdom, it was definitely someone wearing white to someone else's wedding.

When he caught her eye, Octavia pushed her shades down her nose just enough so that she could raise her eyebrows at him.

Anakin was definitely stupid enough to get murdered woo her!

He pulled a bit at the collar of his button-up to reveal the generic band t-shirt he was wearing because licensing was expensive. See? He wasn't a regular guy, he was a Cool Guy.

Octavia took one look at the shirt - and slid her sunglasses right back to their original position, clearly intent on dismissing him right off the bat.

Cool wasn't worth anything. Not the way money was. Because money was worth everything.

Anakin thought fast. How did he subtly convey that you are secretly a prince when he, well, completely failed at subtle?

He reached into the pocket of his tuxedo and pulled out the crown that he'd randomly been carrying everywhere with him, as secret princes do, and waved it around.

You know, subtly.

It was so subtle. But it made Octavia visibly reconsider. The icy look thawed somewhat as her head tilted to the side.

After a moment of deliberation, one of her hands moved - and patted the free seat next to her.
