Caritas; Wednesday [09/25],
Tonight was kind of a big night because even though Summer wasn't planning on actually heading out until next Tuesday (there was no way she was hitting the star-dusted road right before everyone's weird and awkward guests for Parents' Weekend showed up!), it was her last night behind the bar at Caritas. That said, she was still a little surprised to come into the bar and find that someone had decorated it. Streamers, balloons, a banner that said 'Good-bye Summer!', and Tino caught right in the act of putting it up.
And Summer was touched. Flattered, even. Until Tino explained that, oh no, these decorations weren't for her, they were for him, he was celebrating because she finally got fired.
"I didn't get fired, you weirdo, I'm quitting," Summer informed him. "Because I'm moving out of the galaxy."
But, hey, if he wanted to sit there and pretend he, like, wasn't going to totally miss her or whatever, that was fine by her. She had sweet decorations for her last day now, and she wouldn't even have to clean it all up afterwards
Wednesday Jello Shot Special
It's my last day, y'all!
Free Jello Shots for Everyone!
Don't worry, Kitty. It was all definitely coming out of Summer's pocket. Or, well, technically, Shunsui's. Thanks, super weird business-related sugar daddy!
(Investor, Summer. The word you were looking for was Investor. You took a summer of community college business classes, you should know that).
Caritas is open!

Seivarden leaned against the bar.

"Buuuuuuut," she added, "it's mostly grape and berry flavors with coconut rum with sweetened condensed milk, so they're really fruity and sweet and creamy, and you need to have one and realize what you've been missing out on, like, this whole time."
no subject
"But now that you're insisting..."
She raised the glass, then emptied it, making a face as she swallowed.
no subject
But she did have a glass of whiskey ready for Seivarden, too, by the time that shot made its way down.
"See? That wasn't so bad now, was it?"
She was so ready to hear just how bad it was for her, to the point where she might even be a little disappointed if Seivarden actually had enjoyed it.

And not a slimy lump down your throat.

Especially since, if it didn't, there was a good chance she'd just be dead. So yeah. Really pulling toward the whole success thing.

"But there's not really a whole lot to tell," she offered, shrugging, because there really wasn't not on the surface, "it's just basically opening up a jello shop on some planet somewhere so I can try and spy on the government there and help out some friends. No big deal."
no subject
Spying on the government sounded like a big deal to Seivarden, but this was probably just some uncivilized dump.

"The entire planet is just one big, giant city," she said, feeling that little bit of dread in her stomach kicked out of the way by her excitement for it. "It's called Courscant. If you're ever in the neighborhood, maybe you should swing by."
She was going to be all by herself out there. So, after a while, seeing anyone's face, even Seivarden's, would be kind of nice...

"It's like you're excited to go," she noted, taking in... everything.
Was she also hoping Summer would be too focused on her last day to ask Rey any questions about herself? Yes.
no subject
He was a strange, confusing, delusional man, but maybe that was just the price one paid for being here forever, pretty much.
"I am excited, though," she allowed. "I mean. Kind of hard not to be."
Also kind of hard to not be nervous and flaily, too, but she was going to try to focus on excited. Especially because, deep down, she knew that she totally had this.

Rey.
"That's actually not a bad idea," said Summer, after blinking at her terrible, terrible friend. "Or, like, probably not shots, because, you know, alcohol at a school event might be frowned upon, but it would be kind of interesting to see how some of those jello creations I had my class make would go over with some of the very vast majority of people we tend to get for these things..."
There was going to be so much mayo and bananas, now, it'll make your head spin.
Or your stomach, anyway.
no subject
"What was your class over the summer again?" Rey checked, even though she hadn't actually known in the first place.
no subject
no subject
And confusing.
no subject
There had only been four of them, and yet....and yet...
Between having to pry hot sauce out of Vette's cold, dead hands, Shuri's abject horror for all things mayonnaise, Wayne's stubborn insistence on doing things Just So, and Nina's ability to do things completely the opposite of that...it had been an experience.
The session before that wasn't quite so dramatic, but still not without its moments, too.
"I'm pretty sure they'll all just be super delighted to get exposed to at least one more messed up creation from the annals of our dark culinary history."
no subject
She still didn't know. She wouldn't know until she saw it.
And then she would know.
no subject
And probably Steeeeeeeeve, too.
"Outside of having a big old giant bender of a party," Summer mused, "then, yeah, I think you're right. And I don't think I actually have it in me for a big old bender of a party."
And how's that for character growth? Or just general laziness and/or actually kind of preferring to just slip off into the night because good-byes sucked anyway.
no subject
Well. She'd pretty much only talked to Summer and then left, but she'd still made it to some!
(And now she just went to them accidentally.)

Rey loved that dog, dammit.
no subject
...or would she?
Noooo, she wouldn't. She was actually one of the good Summers.
"I am going to miss him, though," she said. "I'm putting you in charge of badgering Kanan to send me lots of pictures."
