Caritas- Tuesday- New Year's Eve Party

It was New Year's and Kitty had to work! Obviously there might as well be a party, right? The bar still had Christmas lights up so at least it looked pretty, but other than the traditional hats, noisemakers, and obnoxious 2020 glasses available both in the door and in the back room because this was festive, the place wasn't that decorated.

But there was plenty of food and drink available, and Kitty would be at the bar or playing hostess, whichever was needed, and the TV was on so everyone could watch the ball drop.

Tino was still not allowed to dress up as the New Year's baby. You were all safe.

Beau laughed and leaned into her for a moment. "How much practice do we need?"

All of it. The answer was all of it, but not because they were bad at it.

Anyway, she was already stretching up for a kiss. Hey, you had to warm up properly before... strenuous activity, right?

And Karolina was already ducking down for it, because yes. Yes, warming up was crucial.

Otherwise, who knew just what might happen at midnight?

"Gotta start the new year off on the right foot," Beau murmured against her lips, once she'd (barely) pulled away, unwittingly addressing the question in the narrative. "So we need to get this right."

Besides, with that thing they weren't talking about tonight looming a lot closer than they liked, getting in as much time together as possible just seemed like a really good idea, right?

It really did.

Which probably factored into why Karolina's response was mostly just a hummed 'mmhmmm' before stealing another kiss. Because, practice was important and talking was not practice.

It was probably why Beau had to set her drink down and put her arms around Karolina's neck, too. Well, that and even if they might not be talking about it tonight, she was really going to miss Karolina, and she felt she just needed to know that.

For something they weren't talking about, it was certainly very present here, tonight.
