Caritas; Wednesday [01/29].
So, the bar had gone from a stupid amount of chocolate vodka to a state of chocolate vodka seeming to have never even existed, and Tino kept giving Summer looks like it was all her fault, which made no sense on several levels, even if she did publicly threaten to throw all the chocolate vodka into the ocean on radio.
"First of all," she explained, "how would I have even gotten that much vodka to the ocean? Second of all, I would have at least left a few bottles, because there are definitely itmes when you're gonna need some chocolate vodka. And thirdly, I was being facetious, because do you know how bad that would be for the enviornment, Tino? Like, our oceans are already totally fucked, you think I'm going to make it worse by throwing a bunch of glass and shitty vodka into the mix? Not to mention the fact that the last thing this island needs is drunk fish. Or sharks. God.
"Besides," she added brightly, her disposition swinging smoothly from complaining to beaming, "I'm onto something else now."
As was clearly indicated by the specials board:
Wednesday Jello Shot Special!
Long Island Iced Tea
Free if you're Seivarden!!
ALSO Special on REGULAR Long Island Ice Teas, too!
Guaranteed made with only the ~FANCIEST~ of non-bagged tea!
That last part was only half-true. She didn't use tea bags, like she said she wouldn't, but there was no way she was going over the top with fancy-ass tea when you were just going to drown it all with ALL THE BOOZE.
Anyway! Caritas is open!

Without the summer activities, she really did have a competitive hole in her heart right now.
So her fist met the bar in acceptance of the terms. "You heard the Captain, Summer!" she said. To Summer, who was so much nicer to mod that Tino, and who was torn, between feeling like she should stop something like this from happening but also just feeling glad she wouldn't have a ton of leftover shots tonight. "Six each, line 'em up. You can give us the countdown, and keep an eye for who wins in case it's a close one."

And to Amaya: "Let's see how hard the jello makes this."

Thrilgusted? Disrilled? She'd work on it.
But the little jello wedges were all lined up and ready, and she shook her head and figured there was no turning back now, she just hoped they could both manage to keep them in their stomaches...at least until after they left the bar.
"I just want to state, for the record," said Summer, "that I denounce any responsibility for what happens after this. Okay, you guys. On the count of three. One....two...." WAAAAIT FOR IT....
"THREE!"

No such luck, although she felt she put in a really good show and really did make a good effort to catch up, though it was clear, when she got to her last one and Seivarden was already steadying herself on the edge of the bar, that she'd lost.
The laugh that followed was just as much from the shots themselves as it was the relief of the pressure now being off.
"Zounds," she breathed out, and laughed again. "Not bad! Not bad! But I'll bet you, diamonds to drillbits," the words may have started slurring just a bit there, "that this would have been opposite," and she swung a finger in the air sharply to represent the turning of the tables, "if those'd've been liquid shots!"

She let go of the bar to prove to herself that she could stand straight, then stumbled against Amaya.

And that was just about when she realized that Seivarden was stumbling...and stumbling toward her, and was just glad that, even feeling as wobbly as she was all of a sudden, she still had the quick reflexes to catch her a bit and support her.
Well, not as quick as she thought they were, so it was a bit fumbly, but strength was the one trait of Amaya's that would never fail her.
And she had to laugh again. "A bold victory!" she declared, grunting a little in making sure to set Seivarden up right up sticking there to make sure she stayed that way. "But at what cost? I'm starting to think we'd best quit this battle while we're still ahead, there, Captain."

Slurry, yes, but she still appreciated Amaya's strong arms.

A journey that would prove difficult for both of them, but Amaya hadn't quite moved around enough to realize the sort of challenge she had in store for her.

"Right, Let's go. Don't drink... eat all the rest of them, Summer."
