Did you think speed dating was all Caritas was good for tonight? Not likely! After the dates were done, there was still a lot of evening stretching out in front of everyone gathered at the bar tonight.

So in case none of your dates turned out to be a perfect match - whether just for pollen-related relief or something that you might actually want to continue next week, too - there was still time.

Or if you just wanted to drink. That was cool too.

(Also, yes, Mike was somehow at work and not at home spending more quality time with his girlfriend, and no, even he wasn't sure how he'd managed that.)

Octavia couldn't say watching the speed dates hadn't been fascinating. But it had been kind of baffling, too. How didn't people not get overwhelmed? She felt a little overwhelmed and she hadn't even participated, but it had looked like most people were just fine talking to a new person every three minutes.

Of course, she'd seen at least one drink get tossed in someone's face (and if she'd remember, she might ask Lucifer about that later) but for the most part, it had seemed like people were having fun with it.

And yet it all felt kind of... alien, to her.

She ordered herself another drink.

"Octavia-chan ♥!" he greeted her brightly, with all the usual verve and cheerfulness. "I would have never imagined speed dating to be a spectator sport, and yet here you are, proving me wrong ♥. How are you, my dear ♥? Decided not to participate yourself ♥?"

"God no," Octavia replied in what seemed to be a particularly raspy drawl. (It was also a direct quote from someone else, but that was neither here nor there.) "But I guess I didn't have anything better to do tonight."

She probably would have. She'd just had an odd time of it since yesterday morning.

Shunsui's head tilted slightly, maybe with a touch of concern, because he would have rather thought she could have easily have thought of something better to do tonight, but he was not one to pry.

"Well, then ♥," he said instead, "what good luck for me, as now my excellent night has managed to get even better than expected ♥. Would you be interested in some sake, Octavia-chan ♥?"

Larceny had been given a tab.

That was a dangerous thing on its own, but her very first drink had been something sweet and candy-flavored, which just meant that every time her drink had finished, she asked for more of the same. Eventually, even her mermaid stamina had been taxed to the limit.

Which was why she was singing sea-shanties while balanced precariously on a stool, a ravaged plate of potato skins on the bar next to her.

She was doing juuust fine, thank you.

As though the answer could be anything other than him, even if he hadn't done so directly. (He had a lot of sea shanties in his music collection, so sue him.)

She made grabby hands for her drink. "My juice!"

He gave the drink a sniff. "What is this, anyway? Cranberry martini?"

Well, that had been rather disappointing overall, but Lucifer wasn't going to let it get to him.

He nursed a purple cocktail in a small glass, looking around to see if Seivarden was still around or not. If not, well, he was just going to have to go bug Eric or something.

With her tone, it was kind of hard to tell whether that was sarcastic or not.

Mainly Sia was sticking around to see if Jessica was coming back to the room, so she got another (boring) drink and took a seat.

Maybe she was looking to see who was around these days. If she'd picked a terrible weekend to come back, she might as well look.

"A refill, please ♥!" he called out, plunking his empty sake jug on the counter.

It probably wasn't going to work like that, but he figured it was worth a try!

And if one thought there was almost a little something extra to his grin there at the end, they would not be wrong.

"I'd offer you some sake, of course, Duke-san, but it'll be a moment ♥. I'm currently dried out ♥."

She did come back to the bar to get the little bouquet of cocktail umbrellas from where she'd stashed it, though. Seriously, that'd been great, and they were hers now.

Rey had kind of been trying to avoid Octavia a little, thanks to this current series of fights she was having, but it wasn't her fault, so Rey's smile was still genuine.

"Larceny didn't get me flowers, so she gave me something better," she explained, holding up the bouquet.
