Near the Beach by the Lighthouse; Sunday Afternoon [02/23].
The weather this year had been, for Sidon, wonderfully mild and temperate and free of freezing cold and snow, and so, naturally, he had been oh-so-handwavily been taking great advantage of it whenever he could. Sure, the water was still significantly more chilly than what he would have preferred, but he didn't spend several years in this place building up a tolerance to colder climes for nothing!
And today was no exception. He'd done a few good circuits around the island, then ventured out further to have a most excellent lunch out in the depths and catch up with some of his dolphin friends, and then it was back for a few more rounds. Feeling both exhilarated and exhausted by the well-spent morning, he wound up near the lighthouse to pop his head up out of the water, breathe in that enchantingly brisk seaside air, and just enjoy it a moment before he planned to hop out of the water and head over to the onsen to warm up again before returning to the dorms.
And that was when something struck him unexpectedly on the back of his head. Startled, Sidon whipped around to see a trio of woodchucks on the shore, giggling at the results of their well-aimed log. Amid Sidon's startled surprise, they continued their fits of giggling as they lobbed another out toward the Zora prince. That one, Sidon was able to quickly dodge, and the third?
Well!
The third, Sidon caught, and those giggles died away pretty quickly with the sight of that bright, eager, shiny toothy grin. "Ah-ha!" Sidon declared. "And now the tables will have turned!"
He promptly volleyed it back with a mighty heave, sending it soaring toward the center of the cluster of woodchucks, who went scampering out of the way. "Oh, come now!" Sidon laughed. "We've only just begun! Have at me, little woodland creatures, show me the best you've got!"
The woodchucks appeared to exchange an uncertain glance, then shrugged, and, taking up more conveniently nearby logs, resumed chucking them into the water at the strange creature out there, who went between dodging and catching, throwing the logs back with great guffaws of his own and a significant amount of affirmations regarding the pure skill and acumen in which the woodchucks were chucking their wood.
"Delightful! Excellent throw! Try and see if you can get my headtail this time! Wonderful!"
This...could probably go on for a while.

"Sidon! How are you?"
no subject
Well, two of them would, anyway. The third hadn't been so successful in avoiding one of Sidon's throws, and was off sulking, no longer finding the game so much fun all of a sudden.
"I am wonderful!" he called back as he dodged the woodchuck's throw. "Thank you for asking! How are you? Would you care to join us? Grab a log! We're having the most spectacular time!"
Well, except maybe that one woodchuck, but he was just a sore loser!

Then a log came flying her way. She dodged, ancillary fast, reached out and caught it, then hurled it back and hit her target, which was right in front the woodchuck who had thrown it at her.

He swam over to collect the last log thrown in to chuck right back toward the woodchucks with a mighty grunt, and then called all, "Take that! Ha-ha! What say you now, woodland creatures? We have you by both land and sea!"
The woodland creatures just rolled their eyes. They were on an island. There were literally dozens of other spots they could go to chuck wood, thank you very much.

The woodchucks responded with another log thrown into the water, missing Sidon by a wide margin but still inspiring quite the chortle.
"Magnificent!"

"Enjoying the day?"
When didn't Sidon do that?
no subject
Well, hours, maybe.
"Rather impossible not to, I should say!" he said brightly. "This weather is marvelous; I must say, I much prefer this to the icy, snowy climate I've come to expect around here this time of year that keeps me rather trapped inside until spring! You must forgive me, though, for not coming out of the water to join you just yet, Breq, for even though the weather is not quite as wretched as one might expect it to be, it is still quite brisk, and I shall be promptly chilled to the bone the moment I exit! I'll have to make my way immediately to the onsen to warm up, though you are most welcome to join me on such a trek, if you should so desire! Do you have a great many things on your agenda for this fantastic day?"
no subject
She made sure to smile at him.
"How are things back in Hyrule?"

"Have you ever visited the music shop by the way?"
no subject
"Though a heartbeat," he then added, laughing a little as if to chase away the seriousness of the previous statement, "is probably about as long as I've spent in the music shop, if that at all! I must admit, there has never been a great pull to draw me in, as I have never been very musically inclined. Why do you ask?"
no subject
She suspected not, and neither had she.

He did, after all, hydrate through absorption, so the concept of drinking things was still quite novel and delightful to him.
"I will most certainly have to take you up on that offer, Breq! Thank you for the invitation! I do rather enjoy music, even if I am not quite talented in making it on my own, and perhaps you could share with me something of your favorite aspects of it, considering you are far better versed than I!
"As for the dancing," he continued, "I have not kept up with it as such, though I have found than many of the exercise make for excellent training in the water! I hope that I may perhaps use some of the ones I remembered to pass along to the hatchlings back home; I can imagine it will only help them in becoming much more graceful swimmers!"
no subject
She tried to picture little hatchlings doing ballet practice in the water. "I'm sure it will be fun for them."
"You do know some songs though, don't you?"

There was, of course, the Ceremonial song of the Champion, but that was one likely to make him feel terribly morose, so he didn't exactly feel like sharing that particular one.
"My favorite tale of our ancinet stories is that of the White Scale," he offered. "We do not have a song for that one, particularly, but it could be an interesting challenge to try and come up with one!"
