Caritas; Wednesday [03/11].

With consideration of the calender, Summer was confronted with a tough choice: was it better to hit up the St. Patrick's Day flavors a little too early, or just a day too late? Because of course it couldn't have fallen more conveniently that it would land on her bar day (although that did mean she could celebrate properly; sure, she didn't know if she had much Irish heritage, but, come on. She was a redhead named Smith, it wouldn't be a stretch). And if she did it early, then that meant she could just claim she was making it a week-long thing, and that definitely, definitely had its appeal.

And so she was already getting into the holiday spirit that evening with her offerings. Plural. Because doing just one shot anymore just seemed kind of sad.

Wednesday Jello Shot Specials!
Baileys Irish Cream
Shamrock Shake
Don't worry! There will be no pinching if you're not wearing green...
...unless you're into that.

FREE TO ALL FORMER OWNERS OF TURTLE & CANARY

(That last part was added after the fact, after discovering that Seivarden couldn't bribe for shit).

Caritas is open!

Oh, it wouldn't be that easy this week, Amaya.

"But we don't want to," Seivarden said. "That's my point. Let's just have a few drinks, and then we can go home and watch an entertainment."

She meant that literally this time.

"You don't want to," Amaya corrected. "You know me. I will always be up for a challenge, but that sounds like a fine plan as well. I suppose we've had enough to tide us over for a little while. Seems like a bit of a waste of all these free shots, but I guess that just means I'll have to make up for it all my own."

"Just stay sober enough for the entertainment," Seivarden said, laughing. "And I don't want to carry you home."

"I make absolutely no promises," said Amaya, who took that as a good, dramatic moment to take the other shot.

And then she looked thoughtful for a moment, eyes narrowed, as she wondered if she'd had enough of those shots yet ot use that nice segue about carrying as a good way to bring up a little bee in her bonnet about biceps.

The answer, as she then reached for her ale, was not even close.

"Good thing I don't live too far away if it comes to that, though, right?"

"It makes it easier," Seivarden said, grinning. "But it's more fun to watch an entertainment if you're actually able to focus on the screen. And if you want to watch something," as opposed to metaphorically doing so,"we have to go to my place."

[personal profile] special_rabbit 2020-03-11 09:49 pm (UTC)(link)
"I'm pretty sure," Amaya snorted, "if it gets to the point of you carrying me home, I'm not fit to watch anything except the inside of my eyelids."

Which was, she admitted, not a bad incentive to actually keep within her limits tonight. A good entertainment would be kind of nice right now, and it felt like it'd been a while since they actually bothered to enjoy one.

"You got any good new ones?"

"There's one in particular I hope you might like," Seivarden said. "I haven't seen it but it's supposed to include blowing up an abandoned space station."

It would be nice to watch it together, even if she would have to go back to watch the romantic plot later.

At least half of those romantic plots wer pointless and just shoehorned in, anyway! The entertainments were perfectly fine with out them, if not vastly improved.

Don't even get her started on the amount of time spent on hand-holding, but at least that part she could understand a little more.

"Oooooh."

Clearly, she approved.

"And I like when they're new for you, too. It's a little more fun that way."

And maybe because Seivarden was slightly less inclined to try and explain certain plot points and details to her and pull her out of the moment. But that just made her think...

"...I really miss movie class, too. That was always something pretty new for both of us."

"I do too," Seivarden said. "Most of the movies were terrible." Which sort of made it more fun.

"Maybe we should start it up again."
special_rabbit: (considering)

[personal profile] special_rabbit 2020-03-13 12:43 pm (UTC)(link)
"I have actually thought about it," Amaya admitted, tilting her head a little thoughtfully before down went another shot. "I mean, at first, it seemed a little far-fetched, since what do I know about movies? But then, if you really consider it, the answer's a lot more than some people around here, just on account of the fact that I've been takin' that class for a while now..."

And complaining about stupid Earth movies together was fun.

"I'd help you with it if you want."

"I do always enjoy a good collaborative new project," Amaya mused with a bit of an eager grin. "And it might be nice to have it going again in the summer, maybe a good way to meet some new faces....assuming nothing happens to drive them all off like last semester, anyway."

That last part was said a bit dryly, as if she couldn't understand how some goat demon kidnapping people and throwing them into a volcano would scare anyone off.

And she was saying this as someone who'd been there!

[personal profile] 1000yearstoolate 2020-03-13 04:51 pm (UTC)(link)
"Let's think about it," Seivarden said. "Perhaps ask people for recommendations."

Since she didn't have to like the movies.
special_rabbit: (special rabbit smile)

[personal profile] special_rabbit 2020-03-13 09:04 pm (UTC)(link)
"We can try to get recommendations," Amaya agreed with a snort. "Whether or not the television will cooperate with them, however...."

Though that was, for her, part of the fun.

[personal profile] 1000yearstoolate 2020-03-13 10:23 pm (UTC)(link)
"Are you suggesting we just leave it to the television?" Seivarden replied, adding teasingly: "It's not like you to give up."
special_rabbit: (proud smile)

[personal profile] special_rabbit 2020-03-13 10:32 pm (UTC)(link)
"Even I know when something is truly a lost cause," Amaya stated. "But you're right. Not just to the television, recommendations would be good, but with acceptance to the fact that we may try all we like, but we are truly at the mercy of that machine."

"The technology here is really useless," Seivarden said. "Who would build a piece of equipment with a mind of its own?"
