Caritas- Tuesday

Kitty took the summers off of teaching, which meant she was going to have more free time, and with new people on the island maybe she should think about more events to throw to get people out. So when she had down time, she was writing a list of ideas.

Well, most ideas.

"Stop suggesting things," Kitty told Tino. "Getting sued is not on my summer bucket list."

And, well, it was Tuesday, so odds were in pretty good favor that Rosa was going to show up to Caritas, something that might make her feel a little weird if it weren't for the fact that it wasn't always the case.

But this week it was, and she was leaning into her usual spot with a nod.

"Kitty."

"Hey there," Kitty said, looking up from the list and smiling. "How're you doing?"

"Not too bad," said Rosa, and, really, for her, that was a downright cheery sort of answer. Just like the follow-up was practically wildly inquisitive.

"You?"

She almost took it a step further to ask about what she was working on, but that just seemed downright nosy.

"Good," she said, and waved the paper a little. "Trying to figure out things to do this summer."

So there you go.

See? And Rosa figured if it wasn't anything too personal, it would be mentioned in due time, anyway.

"Is it just the word 'nothing' and possibly the word 'trip' with a few question marks following it?" she asked. "Because anything beyond that seems like overkill."

"No, that will end in me bored," said Kitty, who'd at times had no less than three jobs at once between two universes that she'd balanced.

"Right," said Rosa, fondly. "Because you're a nerd."

Her chin quirked up at the list.

"So what is on there?" she ventured.

So much for not being nosy. Because, yes, perfectly normal questions that people usually asked their friends to indicate a passing involvement in their lives was what Rosa considered super nosy, but it was okay, because it was Kitty.

"Old ideas from before. The name-your-own drinks party. The sleepover deal. Things like that. The whisky tasting wasn't bad, maybe a wine tasting or something similar," she said.

"The zombies are always looking bored," Rosa offered. "Give them something to do with a karaoke contest, or something. Just make sure to give plenty of notice about it so that I can make sure I'm not here for it."

"Tuesday night zombie karaoke contest, got it," Kitty teased.!
