somethingwithturquoise: (doubtful summer is doubtful)

Caritas; Wednesday [05/06].

Summer wasn't sure exactly what was going on, if it was some sort of party or whatever, but it was good to see a little more activity in the bar that evening, even if that activity was coming from a rowdy party (of about 20 at her best count, but they ran around a lot, which made it difficult to keep track) of small (roughly chicken-sized) men with blond hair, green tunics, and adorable little wooden swords. Were they celebrating something? She still didn't know. But several of them had disappeared and returned soaking wet from the pond as they kept trying to pick fights with each other, the zombies, Tino, herself...and then the rest of them, picking up quickly, just settled in for some karaoke, which was particularly interesting since most of them didn't even seem to talk, much less sing.

And all they ordered was milk. And a surprising amount of it.

Look, Summer was just glad that the place was busy tonight and that they all seemed to be having a good time, whatever, whoever they were.

Rosa wasn't usually in the habit of hitting up the bar two nights in a row, but, honestly, she was feeling she kind of needed it after realizing that Monday had been a horrible misleading fluke.

Even if it meant dealing with Summer behind the bar, but, honestly, she and Baby Linetti had been pretty chill lately. They weren't going to suddenly have a sleepover and do each other's nails or anything, but she hoped she could at least manage getting her a drink and then shutting up for the rest of the night before work inevitably ate the mun.

"I know you know about the named specials," said Rosa, who'd seen the list and what the hell was wrong with you, Summer? "I'm going to need at least two Diazes."

She felt slightly less bad about exploiting the list when it wasn't Kitty behind the bar, at least.

But this did feel really weird.

"Tuesday was yesterday."

She couldn't resist.

Oh, and today just kept getting better, didn't it?

At least the cat hadn't started talking to her, too.

"You can read a calendar."

Ironic, considering she was the one who'd forgotten that this was the day Seivarden usually came into the bar.

"Good for you. I bet you're very proud of yourself."

"You usually don't go here when I'm here," Seivarden replied. "Or maybe I'm just flattering myself and it's just chance that it never happens."

She downed one of the jello shots.

Rosa snorted.

"Please. You are definitely flattering yourself," she said, in a very no-surprise-there tone, before sipping her own drink

Seivarden smirked a little while reaching for her whisky glass.

"So what brings you here today?"

Maybe if Seivarden talked to her she'd leave and never come back on a Wednesday.
died8yearsago: (really? 2)

[personal profile] died8yearsago 2020-05-06 07:26 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, how'd that work of for Tuesdays?

'And you're still flattering yourself," said Rosa, with pointedly lifted brows and a lifted glass, "if you think I'm actually going to answer that question."

"I didn't think you would," Seivarden said. "I just wanted to see if you wouldn't be predictable for once."

She sipped her drink.

"So which is it?" asked Rosa. "Am I unpredictable for showing up on a Wednesday, or predictable for not telling you why?"

[personal profile] 1000yearstoolate 2020-05-06 10:05 pm (UTC)(link)
"I have to admit showing up today is unusually unpredictable for you," Seivarden said. "As is talking to me this long. Are you sure you're ok?"
died8yearsago: (almost eye roll)

[personal profile] died8yearsago 2020-05-06 10:11 pm (UTC)(link)
"It's impossible to be okay when talking to you," Rosa reminded her

[personal profile] 1000yearstoolate 2020-05-07 10:02 am (UTC)(link)
"So why are you?"

Seivarden felt that was an obvious question.

[personal profile] died8yearsago 2020-05-07 12:34 pm (UTC)(link)
Rosa took a sip from her drink, mostly to try to figure out which of the several short answers she had to that (including the shortest, which was not answering at all) would be best played in this particular situation.

There were almost too many good ones, but the one she decided to go with this time was just a simple, pointed, "You started it."

"You didn't have to answer," Seivarden pointed out. She smiled, hoping it would annoy Rosa.

That smile would almost never not be annoying, but only slightly more annoying than Seivarden's tendency to state the obvious like she was making some brilliant revelation out of it.

"No shit?" she asked, with a touch of false shock in her voice, that was quickly wiped away by a roll of her eyes and a return to her drink. "I'll have to remember that next time."

"Forgetting it is very unpredictable," Seivarden observed, downing her whisky.
died8yearsago: (what?)

[personal profile] died8yearsago 2020-05-08 11:15 am (UTC)(link)
"It's almost as if," said Rosa, after a moment of just sort of looking at Hot Leaf Water and thinking that you had be doing it on purpose if you were this inane and irritating, "I have better things to think about that what day you go to a bar."
1000yearstoolate: (looking up)

[personal profile] 1000yearstoolate 2020-05-08 12:43 pm (UTC)(link)
"That's good," Seivarden replied. "You just seem annoyed whenever you see me. I should have remembered that's how you usually deal with people."
died8yearsago: (with a beer)

[personal profile] died8yearsago 2020-05-08 01:19 pm (UTC)(link)
"That's like saying that people are wet whenever they're in water," said Rosa. "You're an annoying person. Of course I'm annoyed whenever I see you."

"You know," she added, after another drink, and her look went pointed, "for someone so concerned with my predictability, I doubt you're really that surprised. I'd go so far as to say that you were counting on me being annoyed.

"Of course I was."

Seivarden took a sip, looking at her.
