Caritas; Wednesday [07/08].
Summer just let out a big, long sigh of relief when she settled behind the counter of Caritas for her shift. Caritas which had air conditioning and Caritas which didn't have several feet of lemon Squishy to bail out of, Caritas which didn't have a fine sheen of stickiness coating everything that needed to be scrubbed away, Caritas which didn't have bees.
There were a few flies around the zombies, sure, but that was pretty normal.
She'd made an effort at least look somewhat presentable tonight for her shift, since the only clothes she seemed to have left were the very same ones she'd been wearing all day while cleaning up Turtle & Canary after yesterday's little Squishy-splosion, but then it got to a point where she almost didn't care. It wasn't like she was suddenly going to impress someone in new ways just because she put on a cute top, right? She was just glad to be done cleaning and to be somewhere where there was booze, and a lot of it at this point.
Wednesday Jello Shot Special!
There are none.
It's just shots.
Just regular shots.
It's been a long day.
Caritas is open!

And let's forget about drunk texting.
Seivarden, who was wearing her last acceptably clean shirt, leaned against the bar.
"Then I'll just have whisky. And a glass of water."
no subject
"There's shots," she added, since clearly reading was not Seivarden's strong suit, "just no jello shots. I didn't have time to make them today."
But she got Seivarden her whiskey, and her glass of water, and, as if to prove that there were, in fact, shots, a shot of brandy, too.
"So what was up with that text last night?"
You didn't honestly think she'd just forget it, Seivarden, now, did you?

"Half a bottle of tequila."
She had woken up with quite a headache.
"What kept you busy?"
no subject
"I didn't talk you into drinking half a bottle of tequila," she said, with a faint snort because half a bottle? Amatuer. "I mean, I would, probably, but I didn't? I don't think? And," she sighed with all the tired misery that the day had left her with, "we had to clean the store today. The Squishy machine went nutso yesterday. It finally stopped, but it was like a Squishy warzone in that place by the time it did. So I've been literally cleaning and getting stung by bees all day. It's been super awesome."
no subject
"Stung by bees? Now I do feel sorry for you."
Sort of. If she didn't think about break-ins.

Sitting was going to be awkward for at least a week.
"I guess I'm just glad I'm not allergic, you know?"
no subject
She downed the shot.
"Or you could try swimming in the sea. Are you coming to the party on Saturday by the way?"
no subject
"But, duh, obviously I'm going to the party." She smirked a little. "Even if it's your name."
The little gagging sound and expression she made just then wasn't quite as good as the one inspired by when she first read that, but it was still there, for Seivarden's benefit.

"If you're not careful I might uninvite you."

But he was perfectly capable of opening the door (sorry for all the mud on it) and hollering inside:
"Summer, mah lassie! Ah need yer help! Dae ye happen tae hae a hose handy!?"
It was bad when Cait wanted to be sprayed down with water.
no subject
"Tino!" she yelled, because they were yelling now, even if he was, like, right there. "Do we have a hose??"
And after he recovered enough to answer, "There's one out back, Cait! I'll meet you out there!"
no subject
"Yoo're a blessin', hen!"
And then he sludged his way back around the bar, squelching with every step, until he stopped a good few feet in front of her, looking up very pathetically.
He'd... ah... seen better days.
no subject
"Is that from this week's activity?"
no subject
"Aye," he said grudgingly. "Thaur was a 'toogh mudder' coorse wi' dye," because not all of that mud was mud-coloured but instead was rainbow shades in places, "ain afterwords thaur was a difficulty wi' th' trenches an' th' woodchucks."
no subject
"Oof," she said, with sympathy. "That almost sounds as bad as what I got stuck with doing instead of joining in..."
But she had the hose in one hand, other hand poised on the faucet.
"Ready?"
no subject
He waved his hand at the hose. That thing.
"I'm nae ready," he said, bracing himself. "But gang aheid."

"This week," she said.
Which should sum it up?

And there was a good chance she turned the sheet into something more like what she normally wore in about a day.

"Nah," she said with an appreciative smile, "we managed to get most of it. We even arranged for someone to come take care.of the bees, so.everything'll be back to normal, thank god. I am seriously considering just getting rid of the Squishy machine, though. No one ever even buys them! And then it decides to spew endless Lemon Squishy everywhere like a lightweight during Mardi Gras. More trouble than it's worth."
