Caritas; Wednesday [08/05]/
The band was still on their jam kick, which would be great, if it weren't for the fact that the drummer was still having a lot of difficulty with his arm, and Summer was momentarily distracted whenever they seemed to try to think of a new solution for having it stay in place, before she offered her own unsolicited advice (of course).
"I mean" she mused, "maybe this is, like, super obvious, but have you guys ever tried, like super glue or something?"
Which meant she was met with a whole set of withering looking on several half-rotted faces that made it very clear that of course they'd tried superglue, why wouldn't they have tried the most obvious thing anyone with literally half a brain (and often significantly less than that!) would think of?
Which also meant she would be nice and politely ignore the fact that they sent the keyboardist out for a bit, a keyboardist who returned with a small bag from the Kwik Stop that contained a bottle of superglue that they did a poor job of concealiing that they were trying.
"You guys could have at least gone to T&C," she pointed out. "Seriously."
They might have been a little smug about the fact that the superglue did not, in fact, work, but, really, there were no winners in this situation any way you looked at it.

"I'll tell you," she promised, as she went and set one of those truly sickly almost pale-flesh colored Spam shots down on the counter in front of Seivarden, followed by a much prettier Chocolate Cherry one, followed by a glass of whisky, all nice and neat in a row, "after you try it."
Seriously, Seivarden, what did you expect, asking her a question like that when you had google right there in your own pocket.
no subject
"No."
She pushed the glass away and reached for the other one.
"Chocolate Cherry?"
no subject
She'd save that for later, maybe, and gave a nod. "Chocolate cherry," she confirmed. "I figured that one might be a little more to your tastes than canned meat product."

She wrinkled her nose again, then downed the Chocolate Cherry one.
"That one was acceptable. How has your week been?"
no subject
"Okay, I guess," she said. "Went home this weekend hoping to snag that portal gun from my grampa finally, but no such luck. The outlook is good for this weekend, though, but, ugh. Talk about famous last words, am I right?"
"How about you?" she then asked, not leaning on the bar to get comfortable quite yet if her theories about this question were true. "Radio on Saturday was...interesting..."
no subject
Then: "Radio on Saturday? Oh?"
She knew pretending didn't work with Summer but it was worth a try.
no subject
Summer snorted.
"Grampa Rick was using it," she offered. "I mean, I'm good, but not 'steal it straight out of his own two hands' good. So I was stuck spending time with my family all weekend. It was gross."
There was a beat.
"You know one of the benefits of doing radio is that you can skip over parts and no one but the squirrels are any wiser for it, right?"
no subject
She added: "I don't see why you would make a deal about anything that happened on Friday."

"Not that spam shot, that's for sure."

"I don't know about that," Amaya said, tilting her head thoughtfully. "Put a couple of those on a stick, and I think that might be right up my alley."

"Summer!" she then called down the bar. "I know you've all got skewers back there, do me a favour and put a good number of those spam jellos on one for me. I know the first one's on you, but put the rest on Seivarden's tab. With a bottle of rum."
Then she smiled at Seivarden again, unapologetic.
Well, maybe a touch apologetic.
"As a heart attack."

"Sorry about that. I should have realised they would take it seriously. They were just very insistent that I... mention things. You know."
She sipped her whisky.

"You're a gosh darn genius, you know that?" Eleanor said hopping on a bar stool. "Hit me up. I'm ready."
Really how much worse could this be than the shrimp jello?
